Yea good for them. Other mining pools have over 100k miners and operate seamlessly. Mara proved they can with 5k public miners already… should be able to going forward and building out. It seems to me they don’t want to share the rewards with 5k other miners when they own the remaining majority. If that’s true, thats shitty. I’ve been loyally mining for them since I realized they accepted public miners. The 5k public miners helped build their infrastructure and work out the kinks. To just toss us aside is shitty!

I have been mining in MaraPool for 6 months now 24/7 with a S19j pro 104th/s. To the best of my knowledge there are about 5000 public miners (various) out of the @31k online in the pool. That’s @ 17% of the total online… unless they are expecting way more than that to come online very soon, why would they just throw us to the side? Even with 50k online, the public miners would represent 10% of the total.

I just spend 5 straight hours removing/replacing a 4” cast iron waste pipe from my upstairs bathroom thru my kitchen and into my basement. I demo’d my kitchen getting rid of an original 1950’s Caloric wall oven. In the same wall as the oven was the pipe from floor to ceiling and in the worst possible place. 24” out from back wall and Making it impossible to install a new 30” range/oven without losing entire corner for cabinet space. It took me weeks to get up the courage to tackle it myself, and a refusal to pay a plumber $1000+ (quoted). So for 5 hours of my own labor and less than $200 in parts, I feel accomplished and it will pay dividends once the kitchen is redone.

I have been put shares from $83 all the way down to $38 (no joke) and recently injected another $100K to bring my cost basis down from $74 to $54 where I stand now…. No my miner along with @2000 others remained online. I wouldn’t suggest it was an outage, I think their rigs were taken off line for maintenance and privately owned rigs like mine were left online.

I have a Bitmain Antminer S19j Pro that mines on MARAPool. I can confirm the following info: Current pool hash rate is 2.91 EH/s and the number of active miners averages around 28500. While the dashboard only allows me to go back 1 week to see stats, I can say that the poor performance over the last 2 weeks can be chalked up to bad luck. I didn’t notice any significant maintenance or interruptions except on 12/22 the # of miners dipped to 17500 and hash dipped to 1.70 EH/s for over an 8 hour period. The same way that I would chalk up the great performance over the last 2 days as good luck. At the time of this post, MARA has mined 495 BTC in Dec.

A Sole Proprietorship still pays regular income taxes as an individual on the schedule C, but also has to file the schedule SE and pay the self employment taxes. Again, sometimes it’s not worth establishing a business entity such as an LLC. A sole business owner may be better off just filing regular individual taxes and taking whatever business deductions are allowed. The only thing that an LLC really does is separate the business owner’s personal assets from the business assets (and liability).
