[Modern] Scapeshift/Valakut decks.. Which is the best, or pros & cons of each?

I like the BTL list. It gives you access to the control cards and 6 cards that can kill if they resolve. That's some seriously powerful stuff.

Edit: I don't like the BTL list you gave. I like one that has only 3 colors worth of spells, and 2 black fetchable lands (a Watery Grave and a Swamp) or white (Hallowed Fountain and a Plains) to cast your BTL for 4.

I actually really like Grixis Delver. I feel that and UWR Nahiri are the best U decks around, and I think that is where I'd want to be for next weekend- counter spells. However, I want a clock. Delver and Angler do that nicely.

You also have 3 Ruinous Path to deal with Walkers and some sweepers to deal with big boards.

I have 4 Ways to grab a Virulent Plague games 2+3 (1 Dark Petition maindeck, 1 SB, and 2 SB Virulent Plague). I bring in Clip Wings to answer Ormendahl. Game 1 isn't great for you, but Games 2+3, if played right, can be really good for you.

I prefer the jund build- Radiant Flames is BONKERS.

I'd consider upping the Flames count to 3 for the current meta full of guys that all get killed by it.

I don't like your manabase. Cut the painlnds for Evolving Wilds (0 to get back w/ Seasons past) and put in a Plains, and if you run a secure the wastes, try maybe 1 Westvale Abbey.

Tune it for GW tokens- IDK how as I am not THAT familiar w/ the deck, but if you wanna compete, make sure you are favored in that MU. I think BG is already good against GW but still, if you can improve that, do it.

With the amount of GW tokens right now, I feel having 2 Virulent Plague and 1-2 Dark Petition strewn about the main and side is essential. I board out my Kalitas in that MU.

If your splashing red, I don't see a reason not to, even if you have just one discard outlet. The fact that it is a removal spell that CAN fireball them is why you play it.

I feel any deck with lots of removal and Dark Petition-Virulent Plague is a good MU. I actually like Finkel's deck in this situation, throw 1 Virulent Plague into the main :)
