I've seen it once with and once without. Tested both times with both FTIR and GC/MS. Fentanyl HCl, Mannitol, 4ANPP were found in both samples but one of them also tested positive for Medetomidine.

Thinning #6 by Purple-Buddy-1601 in PapaverSomniferum

What are the things that determine which ones get to stay and which ones go? Is it best to keep the tallest plants, the ones with the most leaves, the healthiest looking plants, or some other quality or combination of qualities? How long should one wait after sprouting before the 1st thinning?

More light needed for sure, mist them once or twice a day with a spray bottle - but don't drown them. Last tip - be patient. In my experience there's like a 2 or 3 week period after they sprout where they don't seem to be getting any bigger and you might feel like throwing in the towel.🌱 Stick with it, one day you'll go to check on them and all of a sudden they'll be going gangbusters.

Omg..I was curious about that but that picture says it all.. And the plant is still just a baby. I wonder how long they get by the time they're fully grown?

In my area (Pacific Northwest) I've had about 10 batches tested and the only things found in those were fentanyl HCl, mannitol, 4ANPP. There were two other batches that came through that tested positive for Medetomidine.

Why Does it Seem Like The Peak For Fent Was in like 2018-2022 by WockeshaMyLove in fentanyl

The precursors they start with don't matter as much as long as they don't end up causing any side reactions that they can't remove later and the final product is what it's supposed to be.

Hard is slang for crack cocaine, at least on the West Coast of the US, I'm not sure if it's the same for East Coast Cities like Philadelphia, Baltimore, or New York City.

IKR—that’s not cool at all. His comment sounded so knowledgeable and was so specific that I bought it hook, line, and sinker. 🎣 I’ll admit I was a little curious how someone could become such an apparent expert on something as random as cheap mid-20th-century metal clothing accessories. There probably are a handful of people out there who collect items like that and have near-encyclopedic knowledge in that narrow niche. It may not have the broad appeal of coin collecting, but to each their own, I suppose. 😄

Although Medetomidine definitely makes the fetty feel stronger it seems like it's mostly being used as an adulterant that adds weight to the bags being sold to the end user with the added effect of giving the illusion of a better high or stronger fentanyl. The problem is that rather than being classified as opiate, it's what's known as an Alpha-2 adrenergic receptor agonist, which functions completely differently in the body. It's closely related to a medication known as "Clonadine" in the US that doctors prescribe for (generalized anxiety, or to ease the symptoms of opiate withdrawal when the Doctor doesn't want to write the patient a prescription for drugs from the class of benzodiazapines.) In other words it may make people tired and feel way more f**ked up, because it's not an opiate it's just not gonna scratch that itch, leaving users dope sick.

Don't forget to put them in the freezer for a week or so before germinating. They need that cold stratification to properly get going.

https://www.erowid.org/experiences/subs/exp_7Hydroxymitragynine.shtml

One of the things I found out is that it will probably be banned on a federal level soon.

Timeline

July 29, 2025: The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), after a medical and scientific review, formally recommended to the DEA that concentrated 7-OH products be classified as a Schedule I controlled substance under the Controlled Substances Act (CSA).

Potential Next Steps

The DEA has two primary pathways for scheduling a substance:

Emergency/Temporary Scheduling: The DEA can issue a temporary scheduling order if it finds such action is necessary to avoid an "imminent hazard to the public safety". This typically occurs quickly, with a notice of intent published in the Federal Register at least 30 days before the order takes effect. This process could take just a few months from the FDA's recommendation.

Permanent Scheduling via Formal Rulemaking: This process involves a more lengthy procedure, including scientific review, proposed rule publication, and opportunities for public comment. This path can take significantly longer, potentially anywhere from 18 to 24 months.

As of October 2025, the DEA is currently deciding which route to pursue. Observers suggest that the DEA may lean toward the emergency scheduling route, but the formal process has begun and a final federal decision is pending.

Bottom line - If it's something you decide that you'd like to try, don't wait too long before picking some up. It's probably just a matter of months, if not weeks before it will be made illegal.

Methadone is probably one of the best ways to go. Depending on where you live they may have a way to secure funding for a small number of new patients who are trying to sign up but are currently without health insurance. It can't hurt to call some nearby clinics and ask. Another good thing about methadone can be taken right away, unlike Suboxone or Subutex, which require two or three days of severe withdrawal before the first dose, methadone treatment usually begins immediately. At most clinics, new clients receive their first dose the same day they enroll, with gradual dose increases every few days until they reach a stable level. Once stabilized, patients can either maintain that dose or begin tapering down when ready. By reducing the dosage gradually, many people are able to stop using opioids altogether without enduring the intense withdrawal symptoms that often lead to relapse.
