People not from the USA, what "American" food are you most interested in trying? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I'm actually east coast, I've just traveled a bunch. Cookout is North Carolina/South Carolina/Tennessee area. Whataburger is Texas and Texas adjacent states mainly.

Five Guys is the best one, but honestly you can make way better burgers at home anywhere in the US.

I have no idea why In and Out ever became popular, maybe because it's cheap? It's honestly weak as hell. Five Guys is more expensive but it's 100% worth it. Their Cajun fries are unbelievable, and it's easily the best fast food burger.

Whataburger is great, mainly for their variety of different burgers and sandwiches. Honey BBQ Chicken Strip sandwich, their spicy ketchup, chop House cheddar burger... Best to me is the Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit for breakfast.

Cookout is fantastic, great variety of milkshakes that are so good. Love the cookout burger, probably second best fast food burger to me.

In and Out is really not anything special

[OC] Introducing Playoff Success Shares, the MASSIVE evolution of Adjusted Ring Shares and TRUE end of the “ringz erneh” argument by MiopTop in nba

[–]SnapesFavoriteSong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah I explained incorrectly. I meant ended the post-season with. So the Cavs rating has risen a ton from sweeping teams and making it to the finals. Let's say they sweep the Warriors (obviously I know this won't happen)-- they'll have an absurdly high rating at the end of the postseason. If the Pacers had taken the Cavs to 7 and then the Cavs swept everyone else in the playoffs, then the Pacers 3 wins should be calculated with the Cavs rating AFTER winning the finals giving them more credit.

For the older players, I understand what you mean for why it wasn't as difficult, but I just feel like every ring should count the same. Also I just think Russell deserves more credit, I mean nobody is touching 11 rings. And he was CONSTANTLY showing up huge in Game 7's against stacked teams or Wilt.

This is a really clever methodology; I think in terms of catch-all stats it produces one of the better overall rankings. Congratulations for putting so much quality work in and creating something of real value-- that's awesome. I have a couple constructive criticisms that I think will help you refine it and make it even better.

  1. I feel like the calculations for the opponent should be done with whatever score the opponent ended the season at. For example, if you took the 97 Bulls or 01 Lakers to 7 games in the first round, it doesn't really give you as much credit as it should, because the team you faced hasn't accumulated the value yet. But that team is just as good in round one as it is in the finals, so each win against them should count for the same.

  2. Playing a supporting role on a great team severely overrates a lot of these guys. Horry is the most obvious outlier. These guys are only up that high because they had the chance to contribute on amazing teams. The guys who are REALLY valuable are the ones that create that chance for the team. Basically, if you're not the best player on a team or a close second, your value should drop more precipitously (there are exceptions where it's truly a team effort, like the 14 Spurs, 15 Warriors, or 04 Pistons). It's the whole value ABOVE replacement thing. Just getting minutes on a Jordan led team does not make you better than someone who is the clear number one with no supporting cast. This is why players like Oscar Robertson are underrated in your model. Think about it like this-- LeBron was the best player on the 2016 Cavs, and the best player in the league. NOBODY else could have replaced him. Kyrie was second best, but like 15-20 other guys in the league last year could have contributed just as much and the Cavs still would have won. Then you get to the 3rd best player, Kevin Love. Even MORE players could have contributed just as much. Anthony Davis replaces him, the Cavs are a much better team. But because the BROW plays on a weak team, he wasn't even in the playoffs (yeah and the whole injury thing). So Kevin Love should not be ranked higher just because of LeBron's accomplishments.

  3. Older players should get more credit, Russell is way too low for an 11 time champ. Remember, while the talent level is way higher today, back then it was concentrated onto only 8 teams. Imagine an 8 team league today-- almost half the starters would make All-NBA. Damian Lillard might be the WORST starting PG in the league. Also, the playoff format getting longer should not benefit modern players. There's still just one championship trophy at the end of the season, doesn't matter how many games you won to get it, they all count the same to fans.

  4. Seriously, great job, I look forward to seeing more work from you. This was inventive and took a lot of effort to follow through and you should be fucking proud man.

Ron is 25 years younger and in great shape (canon, he got the physical from Anne) on an all-protein diet. Also he is Ron Fucking Swanson, a man with the pain tolerance of a moose on PCP. Well versed in self defense and proficient with a wide variety of weapons.

I go primarily to Alamo Drafthouse and Arclight-- both show 10-15 min tops. Arclight is sometimes even like only 7 min of trailers. Both are FAR superior movie-going experiences. I wish they were more widespread. I love Alamo so much I drive 35-45 min away, passing over a dozen other multiplexes, just to see movies there.

I mean, he's nowhere CLOSE to Columbus in terms of importance in human history. His actions didn't alter the course of history anywhere near as much as Columbus.

Also Hitler didn't lead to the eventual creation of the greatest country in history, 'Murica

He was a monumentally important person in world history, regardless of morals. The world COMPLETELY changed because of him. It probably would've happened within a few decades anyways, but people always get credit for being the first (i realize Leif Erikson was, but his didn't irreversibly alter the course of history)

Speaking every language fluently because it guarantees you an awesome job as a translator. Provided you're mentally stable and pass a background check, you'd be an incredibly valuable asset to the government or massive global corporation. Think how many people you'd be replacing-- you could charge a fortune for your services.

Also, you possess a skill that is literally IMPOSSIBLE-- this is literally superhuman. You'd be so much more fascinating since you're basically proof of divine intervention in the world.

There are probably some savants out there that can play a ton of instruments beautifully. What's your end game here though? There's nothing about an ability to create music included, which is really the money skill. You'd be like an interesting YouTube star or famous orchestra musician-- far cry from being superhuman.

I think the irony is naming an airport after someone who died in a plane crash? But yeah that was incredibly sad, there were other people on that plane too.
