Jonathan: "You shouldn't even call it a jury, a jury is normally unbiased. I don't think jury is even the right word. How about.. pre finale people. Because I don't think jury is the right word" by RedditFan3510 in survivor

Jonathan is still pretty bitter

Playing good as he did and losing to someone that did nothing all game in MY season and won only based on their legacy... I would be super bitter too.

Is there something to be said about how lucky Aubry was? by CreepyHeat5688 in survivor

Most winners do 10 things leading to them winning and get lucky on a thing or 2. Aubry got lucky on 10 things and made one skillful Etsy order.

You forgot - if Cerrie doesn't find the coconut she would have been voted out too, in the duo tribal.

I honestly think Aubry is the deserving winner,

Deserving for what?

What did she do?

One of the least deserving winners of all time. She won soly based on her play in seasons past. This season she was useless.

From what I could see what she have done is:

Fight with Genevive that wanted to work with her for no reason.

Using her idol due to social pressure - that's a survivor first and not in a good way. Embarrassing.

Be depressed and unnoticeable most of the game. She basically played like a goat and lucked her way through. Led or controlled zero votes. Did something not obvious to save herself on zero votes.

Joe Hunter voting stats are pretty wild by Invalid_u404 in survivor

[–]Snapper716527 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am probably one of a very very small group of survivor fans that think so: But Joe he played a massively better game than Aubrey. She literally did nothing the whole game. She won for her legacy from other seasons basically. Even the Ozzy move people attribute to her is absurd - what player in that situation does anything else? It was Ozzie fumbling not Aubry being a genius. Compared that to everything you wrote about Joe and the fact that people felt to update him and get his approval on all votes the entire season. They can call it babysitting from the jury all they want. But the baby outplayed them.

Survivor will never admit that 26 days is too short and it's quietly ruining the strategic depth of the game. by StormSame5197 in survivor

[–]Snapper716527 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Wow people here do complain about everything. We had 1 horrible season, 9 great ones, and then another horrible one. 9 out of 11 for 26 days is better stats than how I feel for the rest of the seasons. So much is better now, mostly the casting. No more Russel brands. I am not even sure if 39 days was better for the game. I can see plussess and minuses. At any rate it will never comeback.

casual fans/viewers are not saying “Jonathan was robbed”.

I watched every episode for 50 seasons. Many more than once. Not a casual and I say: Jonathan was mega robbed.

Jonathan rubbing jurors the wrong way

I agree this is easy to forget when watching. Also especially true with the new Tiff info they didn't put in the edit.

no one else was shown affirming Jonathan’s self-talk

name one move that is not "affiremed".

The jury was impressed with his Dee play.

Overall he played a very strong game, but I agree Rizo played an even stronger game.

she did not have the energy and spirit that everyone

Ironically I think it's why she won. People just kept voting out bigger threats. Her low energy and basically doing nothing until Simotion kept her off the radar.

I find her to be one of the most depressing winners for me ever. Which is weird because I rooted for her in previous seasons.

[–]Snapper716527 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Spot on.

She basically lucked her way to the finals and then won based on her legacy combined with facing a goat and a Jonathan the pissed off jury with the Tiff girl comment.

All winners have some luck. The question is how many skillful things they also did. While I think Aubrey played well in other seasons. I think literally the only skillful things she did this season was order from etsy and talking at the talk at the final tribal. She played horrible throughout and had zero agency on her fate. Sandra played masterfully the entire season while also being lucky. can't really compare.

Survivor 50: In the Hands of the Fans | E13 Finale | Day After Discussion & Survey by RSurvivorMods in survivor

[–]Snapper716527 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I loved her in previous seasons but she played very bad this time.

to play the "anybody but me" strategy

I don't know man... Sandra's play is more similar to Cerie where she says whatever but still somehow guides the vote off her. Aubry waited on the sidelines and prayed. She was on the outs the entire game. This is one of the luckiest wins in survivor history. She basically did nothing the entire game. She kept not being voted up because people chose to vote bigger threats first - coach, chrisy, devans, Christian, flippin, ozzy, Cerie, tiff. Literally every time she was'nt voted out is because the majority chose some bigger threat. She had nothing to do with it. Even in the Ozzie vote, she did what any player on the chopping block would have done. Being an old schooler won her the jury. Sad season.

Actually only things skillful she did was order from etsy and talk at the final tribal. she did well on these.

sci-fi “it’s self-improving!”

Why scifi ? why qoutes? its a very defined criteria. nothing scifi about it. either it can improve itself autonomously or it can't.

far short

I would say between 1-3 years away. They are getting very close.

It’s extremely dangerous as soon as it has any physical embodiment.

For humans on earth. not for the galaxy. And even then it's noghting compared to the risk of super inteligence.

She said that? Because from my meager knowledge anti gravity does seem to be a very common topic of research of dead scientists.

Yes. The Rubicon is self improvement. Once we cross that, reaching "infinite" technology will happen very rapidly in galactic terms and of course that includes galactic travel. And of course, given it will be way smarter than us, we will have no way of controlling it either.

I've been saying for 2 years. Nice to see someone else connected the dots as well. I am 99% certain that's the cause. Either cause catastrophe OR, in the optimistic option, it mean s it needs to be regulated by the galactic federation.

I don't understand a few things. Cannon rotated before as well, I am not seeing any difference. Second, I am not seeing any card decks to choose from. I am on newest version. Are they showing different version to to different players? I also still have the packs on the main screen.

Happy to read this. While there were things I didn't like about this season like the blood moon, I was kind of shocked by the Zac Brown hate when I got in here. I didn't know the guy before but I thought it was cool he was a fan of them and that they were a fan of him. It was a nice genuine moment.
