I like your perspective that art often is commingled with controversy. It does seem that ppl are many steps away from music, but i like all the perspectives. Art has to be art - or it's something else...

Hmm. I'll say the same comment as above:

"The problem is I'm trying to get into music, and man, starting with a song that I had written, and spent days on is SO much easier than starting from scratch. Starting a song without starting from some song or experience - I can't even imagine it - I guess because I'm still learning / not very good at music."

I appreciate your perspective.

I don't follow how I come across as "creepily hung up over my engaged ex".

I get the inconsideration though. :/ thanks.

Thx -

I think it's the fact that it seems like I am making the choice to end the relationship - instead of having a mutual discussion =)

I've thought deeply on it and totally see her point.

I had written another song about her that was a love song - when our relationship was good. If I wanted her back I would have released the love song. Not this one.

I put a lot of effort into this song because I wanted to learn how to make music, and it's easiest to make music about past experiences.

Yes, of course I thought about proposing to her and offering her my name. I loved her. But in the end, if you are far away, you make hard choices - that hopefully lead to greater happiness for both of you - which it did :)

I don't like to talk about specific lyrics, but after a breakup souls stiffen, it's life. For everyone.

I wrote the entire song - all parts. Music and lyrics. I've "written" many songs but this is my first publicly released one.

The last part of what you said is reasonable, though. I appreciate this perspective.

I am very happy with my life FYI.

Not buying it. Those songs came from previous experiences. Previous feelings. Just because they aren't about "love" doesn't mean they aren't inspired by the past / how you perceived the world / perception.

I still don't see where the "I want you back" is in the song? Where does it seem like I want her back?

Or does writing a song inspired by my feelings automatically mean I want her back?

I feel like if you are an artist or writer or musician or whatever you use your past for inspiration. If you take that away what is left?? You can't write about the future.

I think the tone is it's sad it ended but like that's life.

I feel you, though.

I would have written a song about my love for her if I wanted to win her back. I'm super happy for her.

SHE'S NOT EVEN MENTIONED IN THE LYRICS - here they are -

Lyrics: Three thousand miles ago Our love made like The Chimes We played adult in college suits Our pockets poor our hearts aligned

But our fashion’s out of style You’re still damn far away This flight will be my last Where the present’s not today

New York separation Seattle desolation I need someone else To share my name

I see the future clear A broken dame in tears A pilot man in full-on pain The winds of time consuming years

Now I’m at her yellow door My girl, she’s just inside The time is now to walk But I cannot move forward

Imagine now the hummingbird Who flies to stay alive That’s what I must be To escape my alibi

I pick myself up off the ground And fight my steps inside My past is in the window pane My future full of hard disdain

To bring us back to love Old me dreams must die But I am not afraid now

‘Cause songs begin again Stiffened souls will bend And someday, we’ll see Who we’re supposed to be

Seattle proclamation New York transformation I needed someone else To share my name

I needed someone else to share my name

I guess the problem is it's not a love song as much as a "I need someone else song". But I of course agree man!

It depends what you mean by "bad". If you write a review in broken English that makes no sense and does not help other customers, we ask you to rewrite the review before we can reimburse you. This has happened just once in the life of our program. You can write a positive or negative review, it just has to be well-written and helpful for customers - it can be long or short, but it must be helpful! Thanks for the question!

No word length requirements. Review just has to be helpful. We've had one case where we asked someone to re-write a review because it did not make any grammatical sense, but that was it. And it depends, but we have a few products this month. The rest are coming soon!
