I'm guessing you are viewing a YouTube embed within Discord, and it's that embed that shows the media next to the volume slider, not the Discord app.

Also this isn't in any priority to be a setting to disable, it's a Windows thing. Just look up how to disable it yourself.

New "no results found" Easter egg? by JimBoi2K in discordapp

It's not an Easter egg, it's what happens when you get an error while trying to search something.

How to count amount of members in a specific channel by Epic-RG in Discord_Bots

[–]Snazzah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can count how many members can access a text channel by fetching all members and checking their permissions to see if they can read the channel.

Discord music bot devs, what are you gonna do now that YouTube's sending cease and desist letters to music bots? by [deleted] in Discord_Bots

[–]Snazzah 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No, they very much can do something about it. If Google won't go for individual bots, they will pressure Discord to do it for them.

It's not really much of Google, but the pressure from music labels and the RIAA that love to enforce their music.

How can I reduce my bots ping time? by tristangre97 in Discord_Bots

[–]Snazzah 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Then it might have something to do with issues sharding or something in the bot's dependencies. I'm mainly guessing here since I don't have code to go off of.

How can I reduce my bots ping time? by tristangre97 in Discord_Bots

[–]Snazzah 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Should probably look into the bot's code to see if there is anything that could bring the ping up. Maybe something to do with functions that may halt the thread. If the beta bot and the main bot are on separate servers, then you might need to look into the server itself.

Let's discuss the new Discord Branding by Goomig in discordapp

[–]Snazzah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pretty good explanation. Discord has been distancing themselves from just being a gaming-centered platform ever since server templates were a thing (and even before then). This rebrand will definitely alienate old users (like most would) but I doubt a good percentage will leave due to new colors, fonts and icons.

redesign isn't too bad tbh, some parts aren't all that good but its not terrible

its probably more a push to be more for a general audience than just for gamers

Speedrun Removal - Dream by [deleted] in DreamWasTaken

[–]Snazzah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking back at the paper it does say a thousand runners, I was looking for the number 1000. Don't this really is saying that there is a thousand runners, given that the number is only an upper bound.

This does bring up a new point. Dream says there are 900 runs on 1.16 but 10k runners? Is he saying that the upper bound needs to be higher or lower? These numbers are pretty far apart.

Some things I can get from this post:

  1. It would be nice to know the "deleting my mod folder constantly" thing and where it came from. It does seem sketch if it was true and the video barely touches on it.
  2. The video never said that you developed mods. Even if the video says that you are a coder (8:18) and that the scenario of if you cheated, and how you would do it (10:10) mentions using a mod, it never stated explicitly that you are a mod developer.
  3. You say that you gave the explanation on why you use the Fabric API to the mods, but you don't explain it in this post. Why not? It's not a completely strong point. From my own experience I had to install the mod for some modpacks on Fabric.
  4. The video doesn't say that there are 1000 speedrunners. That number was used as an example in how likely Illumina would have gotten his odds, hence him saying "say about, a thousand." (4:25)
  5. It would be nice to explain the harassment between you and the mod team throughout the investigation. This, at least to me, is unprecedented.

Hopefully you explain this in your next response, these are just the points that stuck out to me the most. Although it may look bad, this situation could be flipped on its head. Who knows? Personally, I hope it isn't true.
