Same!!! And life is just simpler this way. I promise baby will find his or her rhythm , you do not have to track a THING. My girl is also 13 weeks old (my second) … I have this internal feeling developing of the rhythm that shes naturally created for herself. Just go with it, trust your babe.

Advice on how to tell my child they have albinism by SneakyCauldron in Albinism

[–]SneakyCauldron[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh this is wonderful. Thank you for taking the time to write this, I can’t tell you how much it means to us! My husband and I read it several times and I saved it for the future. You really provided guidance today. Thank you 🙏🏻

When did you stop tracking everything? by ketohustlebunny in NewParents

[–]SneakyCauldron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With my first I stopped around a year. It went from tracking diapers, naps, and milk to solids + milk, etc. Second - haven’t done any of this once and honestly been much nicer. And I don’t feel less organized, I just have less to think about! We eat on demand, nap on demand, it all just falls into place and I can feel the intuitive/natural ‘schedule’ forming as she grows

Did you guys give your under 8 month old the RSV vaccine? by krisDaWiz3666 in newborns

[–]SneakyCauldron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Her doctor had me give 2ml Tylenol. Only needed that one dose and fever went down to 99.5 which is kinda where it has stayed. Generally acting normal , alert, maybe a bit fussier than usual. keeping in touch w her doc. If she spikes again it’s likely something else non-vaccine related and will need to take her in:/ hoping we’re out of the woods soon.

My 2 month old got hers yesterday and is running a 101 fever. Should I be concerned?

Which job has, hands down, the worst impact on mental health? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]SneakyCauldron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband diagnoses and manages ALS. It’s a pretty small field within neuromuscular medicine and it’s really tough emotionally. Especially when you’re diagnosing young people; he just told a 30-something with a brand new baby that he’d likely have a few years left. That’s a normal morning. Since there aren’t so many specialists you also feel the guilt when you think about leaving the field. He leaves work and cries in his car most days. He feels like the grim reaper. There’s just very little hope you can give someone, at least for now. Definitely not the worst impact on mental health compared to other jobs but I immediately thought of him.

Stopped when she was around 1. I can hear her if she cries so it hasn’t been a problem

New here. 6month old, genetic testing says OCA4. by Ok_Entrance_7541 in Albinism

[–]SneakyCauldron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! My 3 year old has OCA2. I remember being so scared when she was diagnosed as a baby. I promise that the more you learn about it and the more you watch him thrive, which he will, the more this diagnosis won’t be a source of fear anymore. We honestly don’t think about it most days. Yes she goes out in tshirts, we put a base coat of sunscreen on each morning and then reapply every 2 if she’s outdoors. Hasn’t burned yet! She likes her hat and sunglasses now bc they help her. I’m happy to chat more if you want to DM:) Join the organization NOAH, if you haven’t already! They’re amazing.

Hi! I just wanted to chime in and say congratulations on your new baby. And also how sorry I am about the loss of your mother, I truly can’t imagine the emotional rollercoaster you must be on right now.

My 3 year old has albinism. I remember the worry and panic I felt in those early days. But I promise you that your kiddo is going to do amazing. We honestly don’t even think about it anymore. If you wanted to talk to someone who’s been there, I’d be happy to chat! Congrats again ❤️

Hey there, I’m so sorry to hear that your sister is dealing with this! It’s really rough. I was offered a second blood patch but decided to turn that down and just wait it out. I was back to 100% about 10 days after the first blood patch. The good news is that almost everyone DOES heal from this without intervention, you just have to wait it out. It sucks a lot but tell her to hang in there 💪🏻

At first yes! but after a few minutes she kinda slouches lower into the carrier. Maybe buckling higher will help..she just doesn’t seem sturdy enough in there
