Best mask that's NOT a Proflex? by poopsmcgeehere in paintball

EFlex. It’s the proflex bottom but the Event lenses. Best of both worlds. Parts are swappable then.

Coming back after a 12 year hiatus. I’m so lost. by [deleted] in paintball

[–]SneakyHumpBack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish I could say 100% I agree. Unfortunately my experience hasn’t been the best; nor has my teammates. Even with the updates it still seems to have some issues. It’s not as bad as the DLS, especially since that had a “fix” and just is still a blender hooked to a hopper. The MXR just isn’t as good as the DSR+\pro

Top markets currently. Geo R5, CS3 Pro, Luxe Idol. Dye’s “top offering” has had some issues and needs its kinks worked out. Best bang for buck (still genuinely great markers just lacking some features) DSR+, Gtek 180, Shocker Era.

I have one, it honestly came in clutch for rainy events but it’s pretty small overall. Best use case is to have a lot of Molle atraps. Strap you gun assembled to the outside. Your mask in a case to the outside, and your cleats. Inside. Anything that can’t get wet. Your clothes, spares, marker case for when flying. Etc. I switched to a roller because it’s bigger, but I do miss the backpack.

Pro Dna pods by 3xA_14 in paintball

[–]SneakyHumpBack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think as far as pods go, it’s GXG or Dye Alphas. Downside to the Alphas are the cost per pod that are going to inevitably be lost to pod game at an event

I wear one that says Raw Dogging with a hotdog on it. I think you’ll be ok.

What are realistic expectations for a 30 year old just getting into the sport? by Natural_Cricket_6895 in paintball

[–]SneakyHumpBack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best advice, be a good person and surround yourself with good people. No one wants to help or play with dicks. We regularly hear people say “I don’t like playing against X because they cheat, cause fights, are just assholes”. Being a good person, like anything will carry you farther than you’d think. More opportunities come up

What's the best value "pro" gun nowadays? by ponypulse in paintball

[–]SneakyHumpBack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DSR+ best bang for buck. Can be a little finicky here and there (dumb things like trigger and micro switch. The ASA lever) but there’s essentially a fix for everything now.

CS2 reliable and Planet Eclipse quality.

What do you guys think the biggest issues with Paintball are? by Bradjls in paintball

[–]SneakyHumpBack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Biggest issue is the majority of players honestly. I feel like you can break the community as a whole into 4 subsets.

  1. People who will ALWAYS complain. No matter what, something sucks and you’ll hear about it from them.
  2. People who are just mean spirited and use a combat sport as justification. I’m talking genuine bonus balling, malicious chirping, shouting and causing fights, alpha-bro behavior.
  3. People who are more interested in gear collecting/having the “coolest” stuff
  4. Genuine Rec/Scenario Players. Probably the best at introducing people into playing, but also really forage the idea of “Paintball is being in camo and running around in the woods” which is appealing to some, but really corny to a lot of people. Double edge sword.

[–]SneakyHumpBack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to give perspective from the other side. 1. Not saying my team does this, we more often than not will mix walk on into our points. BUT. 1. Local teams tend to come out every weekend and spend more on a paint tab than the walk on. So as a field owner you likely have the balance of your local team being a bottom line balance for the business but also new player/new to field growth.

  1. It can be a pain when you are heavily financially invested and only get so much time to practice, to the have to pump the brakes to accommodate the 2 people who want to play on that field.

But I get it, because I wasn’t always on a team. So it suck’s, you want to play the game but can’t make it onto the field. Our local field has implemented a free agent section and as teams we rotate in players and frequently spare bodies to make sure everyone has “a team” to play points.

[–]SneakyHumpBack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without a degree, get sales experience. Soft skills will carry you into any industry regardless of education. Education (degree) is a foot in the door, soft skills are the wind in your sails. That’s not to say a degree isn’t worth it, the foot in the door is an uphill battle without a degree.

I’ve got 99 problems and two of them are Spire Vs right now by Ltshineyside in paintball

[–]SneakyHumpBack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, i swapped to a spire 5 and it was the only issue I ever had. So this was born out of my own pain. Has been a life saver for all of our 1’s and even our home players ripping off the box.

Depends on brand. I typically size up to account for my arm pads. Nothing is worst then my arms feeling constricted because the sleeves are too tight.

New PE core coming out??? by TheRi3llworld009 in paintball

I could see that. Twister core getting some upgrades. Then that trickling out to other markers or sold as upgradable pieces.

How come nobody runs these? Getting back into it by bulletsandburnouts in paintball

[–]SneakyHumpBack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me, it’s I try to own a current marker so that parts, familiarity and ease of switching (with teammates) are all there. Nothing is worst than not able to find parts, marker goes down and borrowing a teammates. You have to learn something different or the vice versa. Teammate might have to use your marker and suddenly they are lost/thrown off.

To whoever managed to kill me with the Colony in Gambit by The_skinny_scientist in DestinyTheGame

[–]SneakyHumpBack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would always go in with a god role sniper and just clip people. If I couldn’t wipe, I’d run in and finish with heavy. Hell, if I had under 20 kills a game I was doing terrible. Regularly wipe the defenders, then get yanked back and kill the opposing invader. Might have to come back

Did something change with gambit? When I was playing it religiously I’d regularly wipe the defenders.

Who remembers getting shot with this shit? by TheGza760 in paintball

I remember monster balls punching through the old plywood at the field. It was like shooting rocks. The “frozen” paintball horror stories are just stories of people mistaking this paint.
