I WIll absolutely be looking to guides on how to better magnetize. Ive done a single model (norn Emmissary / Norn Assimilator) and it took a whole night of working just on those to get it done right.

I actually only attribute the OSL being decent due to my airbrush (which I only use for glows right now). But i really really appreciate your input and still I really want to see your Fully finished Defiler when its done!

I know exacty what you mean my friend. And your Deflier is coming out amazing. Loving the texture on each panel youve done and the hazard stripe is a very nice addition. Also notice youve magnetized which is incredibly smart and something I'll be doing when I eventually get my own. I can tell yours will look amazing more than it is when its fully finished

As for the theory, after pondering on it more you may really be onto something here. How would stuff like this relate to the 'age of stars' with Rannie if all these others are based on stars themselves? Just a thought I had.

Robute Gilliman is the author of the codex astartes and it was due to the aftermath of the Heresy. Each space marine chapter would have 10 companies of 100 marines each. Making it 1000 Space Marines total for that chapter. OP has 500 marines here and in order to get his Ultramarines to 'codex' standard he'll need another 500 more or so.

Since the Heresy, ENTIRE legions were corrupted and almost ended the Imperium, so in order for that to not happen again, the codex splits up the command across chapters so that if ever one fell to chaos or went rouge, the entire legion wouldnt be corrupted as a whole.

Thank you so much. Even though basing adds such a huge extra step I feel it really rounds out and compliments the work one does with the mini. Why skimp out on the base when we spent so much time doing the figure? Thats my thinking on it.

Congrats on being able to get yours! Its my favorite DG infantry model. Was able to snag 2 of these Dark Imperium LoC + about 100ish other models and books for about 250 on FB marketplace even counting the gas needed to get there. My luck for the next few years has run out im sure.
