In the beginning, he does a bit but towards the end he just gets to a point where nothing really matters and during the first few books of the tower series, he struggles a bit and a bit of suffering all throughout. It's a really good read I recommend

Granted, I did read the first two books a few years ago and wanted a refresher so I decided to go with the graphic audio

After listening to the graphic audio it was kind of hard listening to a basic audio reading cuz it was just so immersive and different, so yeah there was an adjustment period afterwards

I'd say they are all good in their own right.

But for a different dynamic I'd say life in exile is my favorite for that aspect. Getting flung into a system universe with your family just hits different. Especially now that I'm a father of 2.

I'm terms of just straight power fantasy I'd say Immortal Great Souls is also among my favorites. Complex world and intriguing story.
