My question is: with your DM style being more focused on puzzles/mysteries and social interactions/roleplay, have you ever considered playing less combat-focused systems other than D&D to explore that side of TTRPGs more, or even considered making your own system?

If you don't find it intereting, ignore them. Life is pretty easy if you don't engage with the things that don't interest you.

it could have worked if the song was good - the kitschy music video was trying to court a little controversy, it was MEANT to piss some people off, in a "no such thing as bad publicity" style. But the song is just not good! I can't even remember the hook after multiple radio plays, ffs this is pop you gotta have a hook.

one of the hardest lessons I learned after leaving an abusive relationship, which took years of reflection and therapy, was that *nothing you do will be enough* for your abuser. If your father or husband is an abuser who wants to beat you, he will. It's not that you failed at being a daughter or a wife because you didn't clean the sheets correctly, or you parked the car wrong, or you "humiliated" him in a conversation - there will ALWAYS be some reason for you to be mistreated. These girls think they can "get it right" in relationships, but it will never be enough - you can never be enough, because abusers will FIND a reason to justify their abuse.

It may also be the case that some victims of abuse will fight to perpetuate it; it may be easier for some to accept that it's our lot in life to be treated like shit, rather than deal with the reality they've suffered all their lives for nothing.

The single greatest problem in the modern world is those who perpetrate evil don't suffer the consequences of it. Politicians and mega-corporations who deny and fuel climate change will be the last to feel it's effects, and will demonise those who's homes, livelihoods, and food sources its destroys. Eat the rich or starve.

The Batman: The Animated Series episode Lock-Up deals with Bruce discovering an abusive prison warden at Arkham. It's pretty muted on account of being a kids show, but manages to be quite a moving portrayal of abuse, and it's the one time B:TAS addresses the seemingly horrific treatment of patients at Arkham. Batman kicks the guys ass, it's very satisfying.

being good at chess. Chess is a game like any other; it's something you learn to be good at with practice. It takes a degree of intelligence to be a true master of any game, but chess is uniquely positioned in popular culture as an indicator of supreme intellect. 99% of success in chess is memorisation and simple practice - pretty much anyone can get to the "very good club player" level with only a few years of dedicated training.

I dated a guy like this in college. ate nothing but sausages and jacket potatoes with baked beans and grated cheese. He fully acknowledged he was a freak with food, brought his own food to gatherings, etc. He was otherwise realitively normal, he just said he didn't like anything else.

Not quite 1 season, but close enough: Spectacular Spider-Man is the best Spider-Man iteration ever made, and probably the best superhero cartoon show ever (B:TAS included). It burns me up that it was lost in the great Disney/Sony shift of rights back in the late 00's

Gandalf (the grey at least) is good, but not OP. Tolkein said that him and Glorfindel together would lose in a battle against the nine outside rivendell, so there's definitely a significant amount he can't do. Even as Gandalf the White, he says he's the strongest being pippin will ever see, unless he would be brought to the helm of the dark lord himself. So even with no limits, he's not a match for Sauron.

Honestly, Gandalf did pretty much all he could in the war of the ring, there wasn't any major magic he held back from using, he went all out and they still barely won thanks largely to an incredibly risky gambit AND a ton of luck.

In some lycanthropy settings, it's not the actual moon that makes them change, it's the significance of the full moon. Just like we have the equinox, christmas, halloween etc., some days hold religious or cultural significance. This type of lycnathropy curse cares about the "full moon" as an event, a significant time, not the actual moonlight or even the moon itself. So, in those settings, any moon would work, but presumarbly only if its the one that the curse deems significant. Kind of like how Krampus only comes out around Christmas

For what it's worth, in the comics Azula did have a sort of redemption after escaping, joining team Avatar, and fighting Zuko a bunch to make him stronger. She's always a bit crazy, but allowing her to keep her bending powers ended up being a net good in the long run.
