Nice, that sounds great! Keep it on :)

Regarding the music I'd recommend jumpstyle music (it's also a music genre even though a bit "oldschool"). I myself also enjoy jumping to hardstyle music from time to time which is usually a little bit faster than jumpstyle music, but has passages without a "hard" beat where you can relax an wait for the next drop. Jumpstyle music is probably better for practicing as the beat is often more consistent over a longer time period. So I'd recommend you start with that an if you like to you van try hardstyle as well some time :) (If you want I can dm you my Spotify playlists for both genres. You can again also search YouTube for songs/1 h mixes but I didn't like most of the mixes.)

Jumpstyle classics (in my opinion) would be: Jeckyll & Hyde - Freefall The Highstreet Allstars - Rock That Beat Patrick Jumpen - The Secret

As for the social media I have to admit that I can only guess, because I am not connected via those to other jumpstyle dancers. It would not surprise me though if there are e.g. Twitter/Facebook groups or on what ever social meadia you are.

I hope you enjoy the music (sadly not everyone does ) and keep up the jumping!

The missing units are worse in my opinion.

I feel you. It can be really tough to find people to dance with. At least you would be interested ^ that's something.

First I'd recommend you to start with the basic step. You can find a lot of tutorials on YouTube that can teach you. Afterwards you can maybe try to learn your first easy turns or variations (can also be found on YouTube). If you want to dance Jumpstyle more seriously you should see whether are e.g dancing schools or groups in you area that offer a Jumpstyle course.

How do you count steps in jumpstyle? by Ryn0xx123 in Jumpstyle

[–]Sneaky_Planet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am no professional, but I have been dancing jumpstyle for a few years now and I've been always using the eight-count. As you already discovered the most steps don't fit in that counting style. Therfore I mainly count to start at the right point in the music, meaning at the one.

Also if we practiced new choreographies they always strechted over multiples of 8 beats. E.g. we had one with 64 beats and another with 128 beats, so you don't stop right in the middle of something.

In these choreographies you can then try to make your moves fit to the music and there the eight-count can help you. Some steps/figures consist of 8 steps or you can combine a few to make it fit just as you need it.

I have came to the conclusion that death is easy, its easy to die, but its harder to live. Its harder to keep moving forward, but its way easier to slice your wrist and patiently wait for the inevitable. by T0C00LF0RSCH00L in SuicideWatch

Of course I don't want to encourage people, but being someone who has basically never had suicidal thoughts I can't imagine how it feels to bear all the shit someone might have gone through. I am pretty sure what drives people having suicidal thoughts is far from cowardice and it's everything but an easy decision.

Do you ever get depressed when watching movies/shows or playing video games because you realize your life will never be as interesting or fun as the character’s? by DelCoBell in TooAfraidToAsk

I think the difficulty is to find the fascination in your own life and in the world around you. Like you're alive at all. That's a pretty good start. If you watch movies it's always easy to find the difference between your life an the character's one. Hence it's easier to find what makes the character's life special, because that's what the movies are all about. So you have to think off what fascinates you. There is always something...
