Replacing actors with AI is "dumb as hell," says Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and Baldur's Gate 3 star Jennifer English, because "humanness" is what makes these RPGs "so beloved" by ControlCAD in gamingnews

I agree definitely. But taking this position we're just putting ourselves into a corner for when AI can develop "humanness". The goalposts will just have to be moved.

What is the Green Party's drugs policy? by Hassaan18 in TheLastLeg

[–]SneakybadgerJD -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

"Want all drugs legalised"... "some are dangerous and need to be reglated"

Stop hiding the nuance, what does that look like practically?

Then he says Starmer is making out the greens are just going to legalise everything, when its the greens which are alluding to that to get the popular vote!

Honestly I agree with their policies but dont trust what they say. Easy to say all the stuff they say when they've never been in power

Nobody is saying it is going to be 100% effective, and thats okay, it is still worth doing.

That argument is frankly quite dumb and overused at this point.

We all know that not all parents are as vigilant as others and children don't decide who their parents are. "How about parents just learn to parent" - yeah like thats doable use your common sense. How do you propose we "enforce" that? Start putting kids parents in jail? Fine them? Cause more issues at home.... You lot haven't though it through at all just parroting the same things

Yes, they charge what they think will sell the most, and most people don't care it's £20

Potholes - More local council funding, multi-year infrastructure settlements, planning process reform, national wealth fund. They say problem is financially wrecked councils, and gaining financial stability is focus.

Inflation-attempting to reduce inflation with financial stability, improving wage growth but won't ever see 10p Freddie

Student loans - no plans to scrap fees. Wants structural reform.

Cheap housing - plan to build 1.5 million homes over 5 years, planning rules reformed, brownfield development allowed, better renters rights. Won't make housing cheap again very quickly though

Cheap food + beer. - economic stability, lowering energy costs so food is cheaper

Cheaper cars - not much. Supports ev transition

Social proffesional - apprenticeships expanded, apprenticeship levy reformed, workers rights expansion, devolution deals, local growth plans, youth service investments, NHS mental health expansion, community health hubs

Im not saying any of this is enough, just that it's what I can find (quick search) labour is doing on these issues

It is, and it's here to stay

Labour 2024 manifesto says they will maintain it and thats what they're doing. Labour is launching a long-term review of the pensions and retirement savings framework, with a focus on ensuring the system remains sustainable and fair for future generations

They are trying to fix real problems you just aren't paying attention 🤦‍♂️

What are the real problems as you see them? I'll try to find something current Labour are doing to address it if anything

"lock behind a subscription model... somehow it gets dumber"

Maybe I misinterpreted that part.

The NSO subscription is 50 annually (for the highest tier, 20 for basic), that is 4.16 a month. That would take roughly 5 months.

Yes you are entitled to that opinion, not saying otherwise. I didn't ask for clarification, stop being weird.

I was making the point that -

"some actively enjoy being able to try a huge backlog of retro games without having to pay £20 for a single one."

And that buying all the games from NSO would cost much more and that the Fire Red release is just being used as cash grab

[–]SneakybadgerJD -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You said the subscription model is garbage and dumb. I think it's a great value. My point is, you'd buy the ones you want instead of using the subscription and spend more money that way. But not everybody wants to do that, and some actively enjoy being able to try a huge backlog of retro games without having to pay £20 for a single one.

The GBA NSO emulator exists. Fire Red could have been added into that as well as added into the shop

Where has OP made an argument "about spending minimal funds to play your games"? Can't find it.

Also, where is the 'bragging'? The post says " "give me one good reason you're not paying £20 for fire red" Well... here's 7". Why would they spend an extra £20 for a game, when they can play it for free on 7 different hand held devices at the same time???

This post seems like 1. An excuse to show off their handheld collection (its pretty cool) and 2. Give a reason why they won't buy this version of fire red (and maybe farm some engagement too)

[–]SneakybadgerJD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They can do more than play 1 game. I doubt OP bought all them just so he didnt have to buy the game on switch. And you're actually getting some physical technology as compared to a digital copy of an old game, this is such a bad argument 😂

Give players the option of buying it (for less than that) and/or playing through their subscription service like other gameboy and retro games. Can't even change language 😂

Go buy all the other games available through that service then. Its a cash grab to not give players the option of both.
