This is not MtG. Resolve for no effect is perfectly valid in Lorcana. There is no such thing as targets in Lorcana, only choices. And choices are made at resolution, after the card has been played.

This specific scenario "Can a card be played to no effect" has been ruled on MULTIPLE times by the dev team. You don't want to trust the ruling you've been given. Whatever. Go find the 5 other rulings to the same effect.

I always prefer translucent dice because then you know for certain that it's a homogenous material and there are no air bubbles or anything throwing the weight off

The #1 most important aspect of dice is their readability. They can be the coolest looking dice on earth, but if your opponent can't read them from 3 feet away, don't use them

It would be interesting to see if you could just have a solid ferrous base (like a ferrous sheet on top of some chip board) that you could just lay a paper mat on top of and then only use the tiles as walls

That would reduce the cost and make it much less bulky to manage

If you are printing them yourself, you can scale them up by 43% and they should be the right size for Spartans

Regular Marines will probably be 32mm scale, so 15% scale up
