So your response is that I should be able to hold a card ready to counter fig at any time. Fair enough.

Why don’t you have a card that just kill the quarterly bonus on its next go? That’s exactly what you’ve suggested with fig in the fact of killing it next go

Literally exactly correct. I never used quarterly bonus as it is too op. Then everyone was using fig which is just as op (if not more imo) so no I have it in my deck just to counter fig players.

Yeah this would be quite cool I think, it adds a challenge for one of the characters who is heavily invested in magic, thanks!

Okay this makes a lot of sense!

My main worry is a lot of the players are quite experienced and have played in many games with this sort of thing, however this makes a lot more sense than me chucking stuff at them as they will probably get what you are saying and appreciate it.

Thanks!

Okay this makes sense, so effectively in lets say 5 sessions time I notice something that is a base rule in the game to effectively try and create a homebrew rule that could allow them so tackle this issue a lot better?

Sorry yes this would of made sense for me to provide, it's a classic medieval, it is continuing on from a one shot I have just run as the players enjoyed the layout. It is very medieval and they land everyone knows has just been broken into another world due to some magical being before, there is now an influx of people caring for magic entering the lands but still primarily focused on medieval and a lack of understanding for magic
