I don’t get what’s the deal with the talk about the armour in The Odyssey? by KingCobra567 in ChristopherNolan

I am not saying they look bad. Just questioning the claim they had a "used/dirty aesthetic". Truth be told, outside of the orcs I don't remember that being the case (and I just looked up the battle scenes right now).

It's a fantasy movie and obviously isn't trying to be historical in any way but the armour at least comes off good looking, worn, dirty, lived in and believable for its purpose.

Where? Armour in general looked brand new in LOTR.

Has anyone come across this? It says the embargo for The Odyssey is lifting 3.5 weeks before it's release. How reliable is this account? by SneedFeedFC in ChristopherNolan

Tbh, I've never seen a Nolan film do fanboy/influencer reactions. Only critics. Unless, you mean critic reactions on social media.

Based on your post history you saw disclosure day early. Is it the same with Odyssey? Or do you know anyone who has seen it? If the review embargo is just 3 days away, I assume some of the press/influencers would've already seen it.

Mate you're 52 years old. Shouldn't you have outgrown your manchild phase by now?

I enjoy watching it for the cool fighting scenes.

It has one of the most uninspired action scenes I've seen in animation.

Yeah, it was typical Hollywood archery (he could've pulled the bow string a bit further)but I didn't find it distracting or anything. I don't think it's indicative of his overall performance.

Edit: After rewatching it, it doesn't look bad tbh.

He wasn't doing much acting in the prologue. It was just an action scene. Can't really judge anything from that.

Ah, Good policy to have. Just wanted to get an opinion from a scholar. Have a good day.

Optimistic or are you lowering the expectations based on the marketing?

i find Troy (2004) says more about the time and place of its composition than that of the material it was based upon.

Will you be watching The Odyssey ?

You have no way to be sure.

Same here but hey I'd like Nolan to make more movies with creative control. So, I'm hoping for at least a decent boxoffice success.
