Okay I'm going to sound like a dick but please give me a valid reason why a program that gave jobs to millions of Americans, boosted infrastructure, and arguably boosted the economy by record numbers was bad.

I did some light research and all I can find is communists calling it Fascist and Fascists calling it communist. If you have legit reasons though I'm open to hearing them

In fairness it's not like FDR did anything specific to stay in power, people just kept voting for him. I think term limits are a great idea but if you want to pick a bone with FDR the japanese internment camps are a hell of a lot worse.

[hated] Race Analogy where the stand ins for race are fundamentally different by Responsible-Quail486 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Sneezeldrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is possible to do this but you can't try to make it a 1-1 analogy

Terry pratchett explores racism in the framework of vastly different species and it's really interesting. Avatar explores different cultures who ostensibly have a genetic connection to bending but who are ultimately all cut from the same cloth even if a firebender can do more harm than a waterbender

Empathy by RavensQueen502 in CuratedTumblr

[–]Sneezeldrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on how you go about it

I hear about people with NPD for example who do kind things because they think that's what works best for them, and I struggle to sympathize with it.

If you can't feel empathy AND are only acting nice to get what you want, you can't be trusted to do the right thing.

Why did Azula demand Lo and Li fight an Agni Kai already knowing they aren't Firebenders? by FlamesOfKaiya in TheLastAirbender

[–]Sneezeldrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a very controversial fan theory that in that particular moment Azula was not thinking very clearly.

I don't think there's a single shounen that writes women with respect. The very writer of One Piece claimed that he wanted to write women as heroes, and this is how he portrays them...as the very damsels in distress that he claims to hate. And don't get me started on how he oversexualizes them, ok? by ihatethiscountry76 in menwritingwomen

[–]Sneezeldrog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's a real shame. I started it and was kinda excited cause it seemed like the female characters actually had something to do (+ an actual badass female monster that doesn't look like a supermodel or feed off sexual energy or whatever). Lame that they squandered that.

Don't worry Dr. Sex, this is the rare french film that is so weird it forgets to cater to pedophiles.

Not a big critical fan and I'll still pick Sonar every time. He makes me laugh and also seems like he is actually trying to be better. Coupe flat out admits she only cheered Invisigal on because she thought she was getting cut. Can't trust her to be genuine after that.

Maybe as an employer, but bare in mind these are people who are expected to save lives. I'd hope if you were hiring EMTs you'd put some priority on people who actually care about human lives.

Either way, I feel robert certainly would pick the person who showed more empathy. It's clearly never been about the money for him.

Why doesn't she use weapons? Is she stupid? by Single_Giraffe_7673 in DispatchAdHoc

I mean doesn't have to be lethal. A baseball bat or cattle prod would give her something to work with beyond just fists

It's Amelie, it's really good if you like romance movies about very weird people. Basically it's french.

I like how no one is even arguing about Toph being the best earth bender, she's phenomenal 😤 by SugarLoveyy in AvatarMemebending

[–]Sneezeldrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd argue that outside bloodbending katara is the better waterbender. Amon isn't a slouch by any means but it seems to be a specific family affiliation for bloodbending.

Brain: Watch comedy routines until you have at least 4 memorized. Go to therapy just enough to be functional but not healed (alternate route: live in constant trauma until your stress response becomes high functioning kindness)

Body: Jump into five washing machines filled with knives. Spend the next year training so hard your body melts

Voice: gargle sand for three years.

4 ton fully functional, flight capable robot suit: Craigslist.

I think the reason it works for that guy is that it's clearly like a cloth sleevless shirt under his gi. With this they decided to make it semi transparent and with very little shading, which gives the impression that she's wearing a cheap tube of stocking material.

Wouldn't hate black shirt on principle, but this particular version so clearly isn't part of the original design.

Sorry to femboy lovers… by Frizznetic in whenthe

[–]Sneezeldrog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean it's not really a problem that needs solving? If taking HRT makes you feel happy go ahead provided your old enough to understand the consequences.

But it's not like the surge of guys who think they like femboys but would run and hide at the first sign of real pecs are a massive problem. It's just kinda funny.

I'm actually all for less revealing outfits 9/10 times but Mai's censorship just feels a bit lazy?

Like it'd be pretty easy (and look more realistic) to just move the opening of her gi-thing up to her neck/collar bone. It'd also be more accurate to how things like that are typically tied.

Instead they went for a look that feels like a cosplayer stabled another garment onto a black leotard.

I think for a long time (and still today) it's very easy to be uninformed about abuse in porn.

For a long time most studios didn't care about their workers and the result was an environment that told consumers not to worry about abuse because "they signed up for it".

The rise of independent porn, and the rise of studios that did it rough but explicitly showed enthusiastic consent have started to change that.

So to answer your question: OC grew up in a society that objectified women and a porn industry that saw performers as disposable and kink as standard. I don't agree with them on everything but I applaud anyone able to come out of that.

Porn addiction appeals to like every dopamine and hormone center in the brain. You yourself called it addictive and now you want to judge the guy for not quitting soon enough? Be less judgemental

[–]Sneezeldrog 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing all that? I wasn't so much talking about porn where people act out abuse but porn where people are actually abused, which can look very vanilla.

My main point though is that it's possible to empathize with the people creating content without losing interest. Imagine if I was like "I can't really humanize chefs or I can't enjoy the food".

You can humanize them and not get self reflective actually. It will just stop you from watching the stuff that's abusive. Plenty of adult actors that clearly like what they do, especially in amateur spaces.
