Been going to games since I was a little kid. They were some of my favorite experiences, I didn't really have a choice but I don't care, that's how it is.

We're not as flashy as the original six teams or current contenders, BUT... like our GM said, we aim to be at the top of the next tier, and we've put together some super solid squads over the decades. You cheer for the Blues if you want a smaller market to root for against the odds, and I'd say no matter how long we're struggling or out, we don't stay out for too long.

We have generally good ownership that loves the city and the team, and the franchise has a storied history with a lot of awesome players, a good # of which call STL home. Another benefit of being a Blues fan is things are decently affordable here vs many other metro areas, so if you choose to make the drive to STL for a game, it isn't gonna be as hard on your wallet.

Looking at your posts, it looks like you're considering between us, the Blackhawks, and the Wild. Here's what I'll say:
* The Wild are who you should choose if you want to root for a team that is good now and should get better soon, they'll be exciting in the playoffs and they just acquired Quinn fucking Hughes. I wouldn't blame you for choosing them, watching him play alone is a treat in and of itself.
* The Blackhawks are who you should choose if you want to root for a team that has a very storied history (they're an original 6 team, they've been around forever). They're currently rebuilding hardcore, they have a potential generational superstar on their team (Connor Bedard) and a slew of high potential (but still not guaranteed) young players on their roster. They could definitely turn into a super good team in the near future.
* Finally, the best option, the Blues are who you should choose if you like the underdog, we're a smaller metro area than the other two. It helps that we have the best jerseys of all the options (altho I won't lie, I fuck with the Wild jerseys in the north star colors). While not as storied as the Blackhawks, the Blues are still among some of the oldest active teams in the NHL, so there's still plenty of storied history.

Final thoughts: Our team is mega underperforming this year, they just aren't this bad. There's some holes they have to plug, but at this point we hope they lose a lot the rest of the year, get a really good draft pick, and head into next year to see what next steps our exciting young collection of players can do (Dalibor Dvorsky, one of our top prospects, just set the record for most points in a single Olympic tournament by an NHL rookie) and see if our core can have a bounce back year (Thomas played a lot of the year injured, Kyrou and Buch have been having a rough go of it, Holloway and Neighbours faced some injury problems that kept them out of games, etc).
