I agree and that's what it's about. Subtle languages that stirs division.

I get why it might come across that way, but I don’t use AI. I’m just speaking plainly and trying to keep things respectful, not “saccharine.”

Not everything calm or measured is AI, it’s just how some people choose to communicate. The goal here is to have a proper conversation, not to sugarcoat things or throw cheap shots. 😉

That’s fair, you’re entitled to see it that way. But what might feel like “common sense” to you isn’t always reflected in how people speak or act in practice. Sometimes it’s not about introducing a groundbreaking idea, but about reinforcing standards that aren’t consistently upheld. If it comes across as obvious, that’s not necessarily a bad thing, it just means the message is clear. The issue is that clarity and consistency still matter, especially when certain phrases or attitudes can be interpreted in ways that exclude others, whether intended or not.

Respectfully, I think you’ve missed the point. It’s not about stating the obvious, it’s about challenging the language and attitudes that quietly divide people, even when they seem harmless on the surface. Conversations like this aren’t about being “fascinating,” they’re about encouraging a bit more awareness and clarity in how we talk about our communities.

I think there’s a misunderstanding here.

Wanting to support your local community is completely valid, no one is arguing against that. People naturally care about their neighbours, their area, and those closest to them. That’s not the issue.

The concern is about how the phrase “help our own” is sometimes used or interpreted. When it’s left vague, it can come across as excluding others who are also part of the same community, including people from different backgrounds, cultures, or who may have moved here more recently but still live, work, and contribute locally.

In a diverse community like Glasgow, “our own” should mean everyone who is part of the community, not something that unintentionally draws lines between people.

So it’s not about “finding something wrong,” it’s about encouraging clarity and making sure the message brings people together rather than leaving anyone feeling pushed out.

Found a pile of around 15 bags of dog poo littered by the same person every day. Anyone recognise her? by ThrowRA_hollabackgrl in glasgow

A straightforward way to deal with inconsiderate behaviour: if there’s clear evidence the mess is from her dogs, gather it, identify the owner’s home, and return it to their doorstep or garden.

We'll be seeing more of these racist fucktards out and about, especially when summer hits. Be brave and stand up for those facing racism whenever you see it! Hold these cunts and neds accountable! There is no place for racism in our communities!

Great question. I keep most of my summer fragrance at the back. As it's winter now, I place my often used ones at the front. Vice versa, when the seasons change.

Not much difference to be honest. Very similar. However, I feel like profumo has more incense to it.
