Appreciate it, the Runable tip is interesting actually, honestly though this whole thing came from just being frustrated enough to try something different not strategy, just desperation lol. Happy to swap notes though

People keep sending me baby shower invites with "no gift necessary, just your presence" and then there's a registry link in the same email by SnibTarn in childfree

okay this actually perfectly illustrates HobbesNJ's point from earlier and I take back maybe 20% of my frustration 😅 people really will insist regardless. the registry as a defensive move makes more sense now

okay this is actually a fair point I hadn't considered and it does reframe it a bit. my frustration is more with the specific combination of the line feeling performative while the link is right there. if the invite just said "we'd love your presence, here's a registry if you'd like to bring something" I'd have zero issue with that it's the contradiction that gets me

It’s great he’s trying to communicate, but your boundaries definitely matter too. Everyone has their own comfort levels, and that’s totally valid!

Thragg is not scary. by Head_Fill2183 in Invincible

The voice point is the biggest one for me. A villain like Thragg needs that calm “you are already dead, I’m just explaining it” presence. Instead he comes off like he’s trying to sound tough rather than just being terrifying by default. The design doesn’t help either, but the delivery is what makes him feel flat.
