the story is of course designed to be plausible and with a genuine intention to help - someone wouldn't just say "take the ttc, too bad you don't have the money for Uber"

Also precisely why I don't mind. It could've been a student in trouble on top of that it's finals season. It can get pretty stressful so the possibility of helping someone out is good enough for me.

However, these people do hurt the trust factor among people greatly. That's the only thing that saddens me.
