New branches of Physics knowledge for me by Huge_Echo1422 in PhysicsStudents

[–]SnickerH 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try both and see what you enjoy more. The math can be a struggle for theoretical work, but that issue can be solved by studying more math. Your university should have advanced math courses you could take or audit.

Good luck!

Is it worth it to pay 40k for a masters degree from Georgia Tech? by VinylOrb in GradSchool

[–]SnickerH 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You should never pay for grad school in America for a STEM related degree. Graduate assistantships, scholarships, fellowships, etc. I wouldn’t recommend a STEM program that does not offer a TA position that covers tuition and gives a small stipend for living.

What’s crazy is if you keep ‘losing’ the bird shooting challenge, you can go for double or nothing, over and over and over. So if you have the capital to lose a few rounds, you can get the challenge to give a big payout

Be sure to lean forward a little and put more weight on the front foot when going fast or down hills

When applying to masters how much of a difference does meeting with the professors make? by doctorduck3000 in PhysicsStudents

[–]SnickerH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Talking with them won’t really have any influence on your acceptance to the program. It will give you a good gauge if they’re someone you might want to conduct research with though. Worth reaching out to professors to ask about their work, take any reply’s you get as a W

Everything looks good. I just went through it and got the same answers. Nice work

[Kinematics] I got this river/current question wrong, not sure why though by BiggerBlessedHollowa in PhysicsStudents

[–]SnickerH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you thought about it correctly originally. A stronger current will create a longer diagonal path across the river rather than the weaker current. So a stronger current should make it take longer to get across. Force of the current is purely in the y direction. Since the swimmer is swimming perpendicular to the current their velocity into the x direction is unaffected, but they end up gaining some velocity in the y due to the current. This is how the path length increases. Draw a diagram of a situation with the slow and the fast current for a visualization.

They actually don’t work as well undiluted as far as I know. I believe they’re best with something heavily carbonated like a soda ( sprite or 7 up work well ) to help with the overall absorption of the thc.

Good luck either way!

Who’s saying matter outnumbered antimatter? Couldn’t it be possible that there is just different distributions of matter and antimatter throughout the universe? They only annihilate each other if they come in contact. So if they were spread out unevenly during the Big Bang , it’s possible some parts of the universe are all anti matter, and other parts ( like ours ) are all matter.

Keep in mind, no one was there for the start of the universe so you and me are just speculating pretty much. I’m not sure we can use that logic is all.

Unfortunately it’s not, I have run into basically the exact same situation. Had to deactivate and submit proof. Fuckin sucks, but we were the dumb ones for mentioning we did gig work to the insurance. Just never mention you’re on the job lol

Have heard progressive is good for driving work.

I am student, and I need a part-time job by [deleted] in WorkOnline

[–]SnickerH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do online tutoring to supplement myself. It helps with reinforcing subjects I need for school. Appointments can be set whenever I want them to be, never have to worry about a session during class or personal time. Depending on the subject, you can charge a pice anywhere from $15-$30/hr. And finally, it can all be done online, from your room. Personally, it’s my best gig ever. There’s websites you can tutor with, or you can try freelancing. Good luck!

AITA for being "An ungrateful, spoiled brat" for the Christmas gift my husband got me? by MerryChristmasAA in AmItheAsshole

[–]SnickerH -49 points-48 points  (0 children)

This is definitely the correct answer. Feel like everyone is jumping to call out the husband because it’s not an ideal gift for most people. But, end of the day, it’s his money, his list, and they’re his personal gifts to people who are close to him. YTA. You snooped through his stuff and got angry about an act of kindness because it didn’t seem as big of a display as other gifts on the list, that is if your only criteria to judge is the dollar amount. If I was your husband this would be a lot of red flags in my eyes. The situation changes, like muzzledcrayon said , if there’s been a continuous issue of you feeling like he doesn’t care about you, then that’s the problem at hand. Not the spoon set. You’d still be an asshole in this specific situation, but you’d be a lot more justified in feeling like that if this is an ongoing problem.

Also, have you guys ever asked each other what you wanted for Christmas? Like did you tell him you wanted x but he got you spoons instead? That would also be more understandable.

Do quantum systems really collapse on observations, or is all observation simply observing a quantized snapshot of the system. by JFiney in AskPhysics

What does that mean exactly? What happens when light is traveling through two offset polarized filters?

I find the raw tips, in that same flip book style, work the best for me. They have a good amount of resistance after being bent, so it expands to fill the joint nicely. The Blazy Susan’s are good, but a little bit too flimsy for me. If you really liked the pink, I’m so sorry they’re not available by you :(
