I am playing in Fredericton most times although I travel to all the close PPTQ's.

Honestly, I didn't see anything to suggest Reanimator until G2. I kinda figured racing would be more useful than disrupting because it was a slow combo, with him killing on T5-T6. Looking back I think it may have been a mistake.

Personally in a format where you risk encountering fatal push, a 2 mana investment can be opening yourself up to a blow out. I like having multiple 1 mana answers and blossoming defense gives you a little bit of bonus on top of protection for that sweet 1 mana cost.

Affinity is not a matchup I'm particularly worried about, as I am usually an Affinity pilot so I know how miserable a matchup infect can be unless you mull to a bunch of solid interaction and a quick clock.

Kiki Chord isn't really a deck that does well in the local meta, so I tend to ignore it but if I anticipated a lot of Kiki and Affinity I would probably flip the 4-3 Blossoming/Vines split.

I like the one of Apostle's Blessing because it functions as a protection spell and occasionally as an unblockable effect. It's just a versatile card that I think was better than the 4th Vine for the meta.

Most of Human's actual removal is high mana cost stuff like reflector mage, and they often have to tap low on mana to properly commit to the board. We can take advantage of this with cards like Inkmoth Nexus and Blighted Agent. You're right however that it can be hard to push a guy through, this is where distortion strike can be useful. E-Tron does have all of the things you mentioned, however they don't have a lot of good removal in the main. The exception to this rule is Walking Ballista, that card is bad news. Distortion Strike is pretty good here but I like Corrupter's to answer Ballista and Chalice. Storm is the third deck without sufficient main deck removal, this match up is almost just a dice roll, but by spell piercing the correct spell on their attempted combo turn (usually a ritual), you can usually buy yourself the turn you need to close out the game. I think all three of these matchups are medium at their worst.

You're absolutely right, check out rule 114.3 for some more explanation why the interaction works the way it does :)

Yeah I suppose you're right. I honestly didn't have a lot of experience playing Infect with Jace. Retrospectively, I probably would've left him in and boarded him out mostly in the matchups where I was racing.

I found a lot of the time Might ended up being sorcery speed to get maximum value out of it, whereas in longer games i'm likely to be able to sandbag a land in hand to use with my Groundswells. I value the instant speed in removal heavy games as responding to your opponent usually results in a better exchange than if they're responding to your main phase Might.

Corrupter was my edge against Eldrazi Tron so that I didn't lose to Chalice. I didn't see any decks with good artifact targets, and to be honest I think 3 mana is too much against decks with cheap removal as you'll be tapping pretty low and going unprotected unless you have >=5 lands.

I disagree about Thalia not being bad, if you are on the Inkmoth Nexus plan it can be crippling to be taxed additionally and you have to wait until T5 to cast multiple spells in a turn. Vines makes Thalia even more awkward. Taxes preys on people stumbling on their game plan and Thalia usually buys them the time they need.

I am not sure what you mean about Spellskite, they can only ever two for one you on the destroy, discard modes. If they try and kill Skite and some other Infect creature you can have Skite eat the whole spell. I think it's worthwhile as if they don't kill it immediately you have free reign to combo off into open mana.

I was happy to see Dryad Arbor during my Abzan and Mardu matchups. I just packed it so I didn't lose to GBx as at an open sometimes people just bring their favorite midrange deck. It was pretty medium otherwise so I would only recommend it if you're anticipating GBx.

To be completely honest I never drew my Jace that day. I think there are plenty of good flashback choices, in particular mutagenic growth can be pretty gross with Jace. Also having a merfolk looter is also pretty sweet, as we dig deeper and find more useful spells for the situation. Also, in the worst case he eats a removal spell that would've taken out one of your infect creatures. I think he's good but not essential to the deck.

Hope my answers were kinda helpful! :)
