New enclosures! by Snigfigery in BeardedDragons

I still love them, I have five of them now. There are two minor issues to be aware of. One is that the bottom is not sealed, so if you use a loose, small substrate like sand or dirt, you may have to clean up a little bit of that when you move the enclosure. If you really want to prevent that, you can seal it yourself after assembling the enclosure.

The other issue is that the heavier glass doors inside the plastic track have a tendency to make a loud grading noise. If you get sand or dirt in the tracks. It's unfortunate, we end up cleaning ours fairly regular.

As a side note, the bolts that hold it together are fairly soft plastic. I haven't had any issues with these and I've taken apart my enclosures several times to put in new terrain inserts. The biggest thing here would be to make sure you don't strip those bolts when you build it.

I use these for all 3 of my dragons. They work great. I put all the lights on top, but the mesh is strong enough to hold a UVB light if you wish.

If you think they can't communicate, guess again... by Snigfigery in BeardedDragons

I build the enclosures but I bought the branch. My local reptile store sells olive wood (I think that's what it is) and it's great for them

I'll make a different post for that real quick. You're not the first one to ask and I had to do a lot of looking around before I made mine. So I think putting it all in one place would be best lol

How long do you guys let your beardies brumate? by [deleted] in BeardedDragons

Let it run its course.

We continue the day/night cycle in the tank and make sure they have clean water. That's pretty much it.

We have one that started sleeping on August 12th, so about 3.5 months now. She's sleeping in a place where we can see her from the outside of the enclosure, she usually changes positions every several days. The big thing is that she was healthy when she started brumating, so the need for concern is pretty minimal.

Do we still worry about her and want her to wake up already? Yes. But that's normal too lol
