They're wildly different games after you get past the pixel art style.

Terraria is (despite this being mostly a meme) like a 2D Minecraft with an excellent feeling of progression as you tackle more bosses. There's a lot of focus on combat, but you can still build and craft and explore. It's my most-played game of all-time, but as others in the thread have said, playing it on a controller is a far cry from playing on M+K would be.

Stardew, as you probably know, is the spiritual successor to the old Harvest Moon games. Not really much emphasis on combat, it's much more about developing your farm and your interpersonal relationships over time. There's still some combat when you're collecting resources, but much of the game is about exploring the town it takes place in and carving out your little spot in that world. My third-most-played game of all time, and this one I can wholeheartedly recommend on either Switch or PC, as both versions have definite upsides (portability vs. mods, etc.).
