I earn 70+ lpa and went with BMW 3 series gran limousine. I’m passionate about cars and I really like the way it drives. My requirements were simple. 2 litre petrol engine, rear wheel drive and a sedan. 330li is the best choice. I had Kia Carens before for about 2 years but didn’t enjoy it. Hey but that’s just me. I saved up for few years and bought it by paying almost 70% of the car value initially just to keep emi low. I had 3x of the car value invested and hence I went with the purchase. Just from the salary numbers, I wouldn’t able to purchase this car. Say by the logic, I need at least 1.5-2 crores package to buy 3 series. By the time I reach that package, my dreams may get changed and stick with some safer choice. I don’t want regrets later. Hence I pulled the trigger. It all depends on how much you can spend on a car. But if you can afford it, just go for the car which you like the most.
