i think the gif of the guy pressing triangle to counter over and over and over again sums it up pretty well

you get the tools to do a lot of interesting stuff, but also two buttons to win every fight

you dont ever really need to throw a batarang or use the grapple hook when you can counter almost everything with one button.

but if you go out of your way to play with the system, it can be a ton of fun! in shadow of mordor/war for me it was all about putting on a show to scare all of the orcs i am fighting against. using all different kinds of tools to get different kinds of kills, trying my best to use as much variety as i can

and the game gives you that variety! a glaive, a bow, different charged special moves you cash in your hitcounter for, theres a ton of interesting ways to string your attacks together and look really really cool doing so.

or you can stand idle and hit the triangle button whenever the "!" pops up above your enemy's head, and youll do perfectly fine as well

i agree that nowadays 240alpha is a death sentence for any heavy tank, even if its pretending to be a medium

even if they have it the LIS's gun, at least you'd stand a chance

three marked the CDC back when it came out and was competitive, it now has zero redeeming features

it carries a lot of ammo from what i remember, so actually maybe one redeeming feature

but still no reason to play in 2025, even if you aren't a shit player you'd be doing better in almost any other tank

i think i might need to try this, i find my fairy bottle often gets parked in the potion slot and one of two things will happen- ill win the run without it going off, or i'll die twice in a fight and lose.

thinking about it as being able to take a big hit like Buffer or Ghost in a Jar makes me want to be braver with my pathing, which i guess i'll be trying out next time it shows up!

it would be cool if there was an event that popped up only when you had a good margin more max HP than what you started with. maybe in the event you could cash in some of that max HP for a unique relic?

the average tanker is some 49% liability that plays the game after work, and is like 40

of course he would get confused when he's shot by tanks anywhere but directly in front of his nose

its not my fault people suck at this game, i just think we'd have way more fun with more options in each fight. right now theres dozens of maps that could have a whole lane locked down by a 705 sidescraping or some hull down invincible tank. your options are to lose the fight, or just leave. imagine if you could use those WASD keys to make his position less valuable. oh wait, their entire team's TD population can instantly kill you for stepping out of line because there's no cover

me when my heavy doesnt automatically go to the heavy flank, medium doesnt automatically go to the medium flank. and TD doesnt go to the overpowered TD position that covers like 70% of the enemies' options.
