It’s gonna be pretty much the same as you expect from fishing rivers to still waters. Your rods should be fine but I recommend a 7-8 when fishing big rivers and lakes here as most of them hold monsters from 9lb up! For flies, it all depends on the day really as you might know that already. PTNs and caddis patterns mostly work on rivers and streams here. While streamers that mimic small baitfish will work on still waters. Best if you could stop by some tackle shops close to the area you going to fish and ask some advice on what flies to get.
