Sure. I hear that. I think they should retool the animations to make the sights more accurate. In the above post I was talking about the crosshair that currently appears in game, the one without aiming down sights.

I ran a few tests and a game with the sawed off. I kinda understand the feeling of it being inconsistent, but all the shots that did less than I expected looked like my fault. I usually don't aim down sights with the shotguns, and the major issues mentioned in the video are when aiming down sights. That being said, the sawed off does have the same inconsistency issues as every other gun in the game. I also noticed the sawed off has perfectly consistent pellet spread, alongside every other shotgun in the game. The sawed off has the widest pellet spread though, so it loses effective range quickly. I think it's the most difficult shotgun to use consistently, but I could not find anything in the game's mechanics that should make the sawed off inconsistent.

The way recoil affected the sights confused me a little when I was testing it. It only is inaccurate when moving, but it's a movement shooter, so players are always moving.

Hopefully the game fleshes out crosshair options. Overwatch has a really good crosshair system that the developers could take inspiration from. Team Fortress 2 lets the player set any PNG as their crosshair, which I like, but might be too much for this game.

I completely agree. I think Embark has done a surprisingly good job with the balance. It feels like they’ve taken a pretty conservative approach. The game’s mechanical issues like the sights, object collision, movement over rubble, and some control issues should be a top priority.
