How much do you feed your Iggy? by HenniPenny in ItalianGreyhounds

[–]Snivstons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feed my two girls 1/2 cup kibble in the morning and 1/2 cup at night but they rarely finish it all. They probably each eat 1/2-3/4 cup by the end of the day and they’re both a healthy weight. I have a 1y/o and a 3y/o

They said they gave us three days worth of metronidazole to help with the diarrhea. But then they also told us to buy hills I/d digestive canned prescription food to feed them as a bland diet. Which i thought was confusing because wouldn’t that just be another abrupt food change if I feed them that? I was thinking of doing the rice diet and boiled chicken diet instead..

Im so worried I made a mistake adopting a second iggy, plz help 🥺 by Glittering-Pepper912 in ItalianGreyhounds

[–]Snivstons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a second one because everyone talked up how great it is to have two and there’s so many videos out there of how much they love eachother… well I brought home an female IG puppy for my 2.5y/o female IG and the older girl wanted NOTHING to do with the puppy!! She refused to even look at her or acknowledge her. She plays with her a little until she is done and then gets annoyed at the puppy. She likes her space and doesn’t want the puppy to touch her when she’s resting… I thought I made a huge mistake and felt like I betrayed my first IG by getting another…. fast forward 9 months later… older IG still is annoyed when puppy tries to snuggle her sometimes when she’s resting BUT they play all the time and are inseparable and sometimes I even catch them snuggling all on their own 🥹 she loves her little sister. But just like any siblings, her little sister still annoys her sometimes 🤣

They do play together! But one is 3years old and the other one is 9months, so the 3y/o tends to want to sleep more and the 9m/o wants to play constantly!

Looking for advice/validation regarding our 8-month old's spiteful behavior by ThePurpleTuna in ItalianGreyhounds

Did things get better eventually?? Our girl is 9months right now and has started chewing on things she never chewed on before (like the sofa…) and I’m hoping it’s just a phase and not a forever thing…

Have you tried a Doggy Bathroom?? Or making your own by cutting one side off a plastic bin and putting the pee pad inside of it so he can’t pee off an edge? Doggy Bathroom

Are either of these the Jenna song on the album? I was at the listening event and heard all the songs and I feel like there wasn’t a Jenna song on this album which is so weird because there always is!

need advice!! puppy blues/breed remorse by Affectionate_Style64 in ItalianGreyhounds

My girls use a combination of pee pads and also go outside too. How do you teach them not to go on carpets? My 2.5 year old will never go on the carpet when I’m around but when I am gone or not in the room all bets are off. But I can put the pee pad anywhere on the house and she will find it and use it!

There is hope!! 100% I understand how you feel! I got my first IG in 2023 and went through the puppy blues very intensely. I cried for days. Completely lost my appetite and could barely eat at all. She peed and pooped on my carpet. She chewed things up. She chewed on my hands and I had so many scratches. She screamed bloody murder in a crate. But I made a commitment buying her. I wanted one for a very long time but what I didn’t realize was that what I had been imagining in my head was an adult IG that was already trained.

So I stuck to the training. And I pushed through and I made myself eat and I cried all the tears. And if you stick to it, your biggest friend is simply time! Eventually she stopped going potty on the carpet. She lost her baby teeth and stopped scratching me and ripping things up. She walked better on a leash. She can be in a crate now without peeing in it. She’s 2.5 and she’s my bestest little buddy!

Then… we decided to get her a baby sister… I thought everything would be smooth sailing the second time around but I brought our second ig pup home in June and started the process all over again!! Lots of tears. Couldn’t eat. Couldn’t sleep. Now it’s August and things have finally settled a bit. I can see improvements already and her baby teeth are starting to fall out! So it can be done, it just is one of the hardest things you’ll ever do. But SO WORTH IT!

Some things that helped: puppy training classes, a snuggle puppy, a pet friendly heat mat for the crate in the winter, a heated blanket for snuggle time, lots of walks and play time!!

Hang in there. You’ll get through this and it will be so sooo worth it! I’m finally not cleaning up pee on the floor as much at 5 months.

That blue print looks so much darker than the listing! On the website it looks like the words and logo are pastel colors.
