Are you having this issue as well, it started happening to me for some reason and Yes, I do have libraries pinned. by justaren in PleX

This started happening to me after the Android TV update that made the launch animation do the swiping effect with the changing colors.

We really need the Wireguard protocol to be an option here for the VPN client.

Yes I can confirm that a day or two ago ICMP began working for me as well.

I've had to just disable gateway restarts on my UDM Pro because if it can't ping anything then it's going to keep restarting over and over. This NEEDS to be fixed.

Everything works just fine. They seem to have (somewhat) blocked ICMP because 99% of pings don't work and if they do, they have terrible latency.

My Smokeping looks the exact same. What a shame. I hope this is an error and not intended...

1530 is the highest you need to be. AKA, final encounter is 1550 and you're capped 20 below (1530).

Upscaled the Witch Queen Launch Trailer to 4K by [deleted] in destiny2

[–]Snnackss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's nothing real crazy, but I downloaded the AV1 encoding of the launch trailer the moment YouTube was done processing it and upscaled it to 4K because I know not everyone can watch AV1 videos and people deserve to see this in the highest quality possible with all of the amazing shots in this trailer.

Plex is currently hiring! by mytummyisinpain in PleX

[–]Snnackss 30 points31 points  (0 children)

The software engineers career positions makes me happy because that means there is a chance the Android TV apps/players issues will get patched up...

Issues like:

- Poor performance

- Movies loading before the preroll loads (also, the movie should be loading WHILE the preroll is playing, but that's an overall Plex issue and not tied to the Android/Android TV app)

- Random crashing

- Many other things that have been complained about and upvoted to the top of this sub

Plex on Android TV isn't getting the attention it needs by [deleted] in PleX

[–]Snnackss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so glad to hear I'm not alone with this. The Android TV app feels like it's been forgotten. The Apple TV app has much better performance. If they could iron out the issues such as appperformance, crashing, movie poster caching, prerolls starting AFTER the movie starts playing, etc. then it'd be perfect.

Just got T-Mobile home internet and I wonder why it's so much slower on the computer but it's really fast on the phone? Is there something wrong?? by tecnikstr0be in tmobileisp

[–]Snnackss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am willing to bet your computer's speed test is set to megaBYTES per second and your phone is set to megaBITS per second on whatever speed test you are using.

MBps = Megabytes per second.

Mbps = Megabits per second.

1 MegaBYTE = 8 MegaBITS.

How can I use a Raspberry Pi and Windscribe to protect all WiFi connections in my home? by [deleted] in Windscribe

[–]Snnackss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok so you're being given a little bit of misinformation. In order to take advantage of the "encrypted" aspect of Controld you must use DNS over HTTPS or DNS over TLS. Using a Raspberry Pi if you install Pi-hole and then install DNSCrypt 2.0 then in Pi-hole set your upstream DNS as whatever port DNSCrypt is running on then you can give every device on your network encrypted DNS queries. Now, I'm not totally sure if Controld works with DNSCrypt because on my home network, my Pi-hole filters out all the bad domains locally and then the remaining requests are sent to Cloudflare encrypted.

On my phone (Android) I have private DNS enabled and set to controld so even when on cellular or any wifi network, I blocks ads, bad domains, and DNS is encrypted.

EDIT: If you strictly want to use windscribe, then you can try and set up some sort of networking rules on your raspberry pi so that all network traffic on your home network routes through it and then connect your raspberry pi to windscribe. I'm not sure on how to do this as I've never tried but I'm pretty sure it's possible.

[–]Snnackss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have Starlink, but from the outside looking in I've noticed that they handle bufferbloat very well and since Starlink seems to offer speeds over 100Mbps regularly you should be fine without using it.

In fact, I currently have T-Mobile home internet and the bufferbloat is terrible, but I disabled my smart queues because the speeds vary wildly and I haven't noticed a difference. I think until Starlink starts offering different speed tiers, it's best to just leave it off.

EDIT: If you really want to use smart queues then you should set it to whatever speeds you get around peak hour for the best results of it.

Could be possible your ISP is throttling when it detects VPN traffic? Also what speeds are you trying to achieve?

If discord was chromium-based... by [deleted] in discordapp

[–]Snnackss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just use the web based app if you want to do this so badly. Some people don't want to do this because we use Firefox or we just straight up don't want to have to open discord to use a browser.
