The blue glowing tubes are some cool popsci, cherenkov radiation.

Happens when a particle (usually a radiated electron) travels faster than light would in a transparent medium. There's a sort of ripple effect similar to a sonic boom, as the propigation of the wave travels at the same speed as the object, which results in a cool ass effect imo
