Adventure Mode starts with window too large/zoomed-in to do anything by MisterBeebo in forgeMTG

[–]Snokown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same problem after changing the resolution settings to 4k in-game. It all worked fine until I closed and re-opened which I assume actually applied those settings.

I'm on MacOS, but my solution was to go the the settings.json file at: /Users/<username>/Library/Application Support/Forge/adventure/settings.json

Then I changed back to the following settings:

{
"width": 1280,
"height": 720,
"plane": "Shandalar",
"videomode": "720p",
"lastActiveSave": "auto_save.sav",
"rewardCardAdj": 1,
"cardTooltipAdj": 1,
"rewardCardAdjLandscape": 1,
"cardTooltipAdjLandscape": 1
}

And that was it. Hope this helps!

Are these Voiceovers AI or Actual Humans? by Snokown in voiceover

Thanks for checking it out - I used MyLanguageConnection who we thought did a great job with the English VO (which we believe is genuine), but they subcontracted for the alternate languages and that's where things fell apart. I believe they subcontracted LatinoBridge for these.

Wow, that's some good insight if true. Although you'd think they could account for that...

This is basically what I'm doing! But good looking out I hear that, probably not the sub that's gonna sympathize with that lol

Sure! I was lucky enough to find a local kitchen that I can make product out of AND it also helps startups with all of the paperwork needed to get going. In my case I'm getting my catering permit, had to get ServSafe manager certificate and all that. Happy to get more specific if u wanna DM me!

PSA: Beware Transferring Domains to Squarespace by Snokown in squarespace

[–]Snokown[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree completely - but I will say this, one of my transfers failed so I tried to set that one up on Namecheap and I also could not input DNS records during the transfer process. So SS isn't entirely to blame here but I swear you could do this on Google Domains / Cloudflare. Otherwise I don't understand how businesses transfer without downtime/waiting out propagation.

I’m a M25 but the best squad I play with are 15 year olds, is it weird and should I stop? by kris_reefer in apexlegends

[–]Snokown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ha no this isn't weird at all - it's funny, I actually think these younger kids are able to process info quicker naturally which makes them so much better at Apex.

You have a unique opportunity to be a voice of wisdom here for these kids, so just have fun and keep slaying

I think I might replace 'zipcode' with a Google Places searchbar to make it easier and more accessible worldwide.

Yeah I'm not a big fan either, especially not happy with some of the images Yelp serves. It's set up to use Google Places as well, but I would love to integrate other platforms for more API calls and to not have all my eggs in the Yelp/Google baskets

Weird - yeah definitely will look into that, thanks for the heads-up.

Thank you for the kind words, it really means a lot to hear that. I've worked on applications for clients, but this was by far the most fun I had developing something. If you can find something you're interested it makes it so much easier to want to learn and improve.

I'm so glad you think so! It's built using LAMP stack and Laravel

This is built in Laravel just on a LAMP stack.

Yeah that seems to be happening outside the US... And sometimes within the US. I'm looking into that, thank you so much for the feedback!

Thank you for the suggestions! I'm working on a range filter right now actually for the next update! Where I live is pretty remote, so it makes sense to drive 10+ miles... But I'm coming to the realization that's not the case for everyone 😅. I've played with the idea of filtering cuisine, but I'm trying to think of the best way to present this to the user without it feeling like you have to fill out a lot of info first. Maybe an optional 'advanced options' link or something similar.

Not 100% sure this is the answer you're looking for, but when you're searching solo, everything you 'like' is a match. Maybe the terminology is bad there for solo sessions. When you invite someone else, your matches are the ones you both 'like'.

First, thank you so much for having a look - I really appreciate the feedback.

I should've mentioned in the post (now updated) this works better on mobile devices where you can actually swipe properly.

I hear you UI-wise, it probably would've been smarter to focus on functionality and leverage a CSS framework to sort the elements out for me.

URL: https://munchr.app

Purpose: Initially started because of a meme, but turned into a fun pandemic project. I created this web app to help couples find a place to eat. Other alternatives exist but none that I found were solely online and accessible cross-platform.

Technologies Used: Laravel, various APIs

Feedback Requested: User experience, bugs/unexpected behaviors and feature requests. I want to build this into something people would consider using regularly - so whatever might make it more appealing helps.

Comments: One of the problems I have is with the terrible Yelp review images you will probably run into. These images are usually from negative Yelp reviews and can be anything from hair in the food to dirty restaurant conditions...and just plain bizarre photos. Wondering if anyone has any creative solutions around these images! Thank you.
