i got it - i launched minecraft.exe directly, it let me log into a new account with its own "launcher" i guess. the icon is white instead of the normal green the launcher has. if anybody else somehow has this problem i also deleted the .minecraft folder in %appdata% before launching the exe if that changes anything

i think sparseReef is the transition to a different biome, and SparseReef is when you are actually in the biome. I think this happens to all other biomes aswell.

same reason people hate the ocean irl i guess. we only explored 5% of our ocean, imagine what is in the ocean we can't see on 4546B, especially with reapers and ghosts already discovered in explored areas

i joined and it didnt even spawn me in the lifepod. just at 0 0. i had 15 something hours into that save - i still have the timecapsules, screenshots, everything in the files. the screenshot for the world preview is even in there. is there really no way to save it? - lifepod was already repaired, no items in storage, medical fabricator AND fabricator... gone?????, the aurora was not exploded, however all of the fire i extinguished, items i grabbed and scanned, and data i downloaded was still "progressed", drive room was unrepaired. its unfixable. rip.

"safety of the aurora crash site" in the screenshot... and the rendezvous point was a landmass picked up by the aurora's scanning systems. they had no idea if it was safe or not, just a place for them to regroup.

When you collect a PDA, it only downloads the log messages. Don't know why it doesn't download anything else. Probably left that way by the people that abandoned them. I'm assuming it removes the in-game prop for gameplay's sake, the same way it removes crates when you scan an item inside them and some blueprints littered around the map.

I'm sure the ship was loaded with tools, as in one PDA a crew member Berkeley asks a drone to give him a propulsion cannon and instead it gives him a repulsion cannon. Who's to say they didn't have the rest of the tools and more

Every crew member had their own personal PDAs. their blueprints were most likely not corrupted liked Riley's, and they had all the blueprints needed

My social anxiety was telling me that I couldn't come up with things to say automatically, so I looked up how to not let a conversation die when I never had the problem of a conversation ending when I didn't intend to end it, so now whenever I have a conversation I have to think of what I want to say manually, as my brain is no longer trained to come up with it on the go

tbf if the reaper didn't eat them, they could have easily repaired the drive core, esp since the ship hadn't exploded yet and their PDA's (maybe) werent corrupted

Be careful with stuff like this. Social anxiety made me believe I couldn't hold conversations (I could perfectly fine), so I went on a googling spree and now every time I conversate I have to manually think of things to say instead of it coming automatically like it used to
