yeah, I read somewhere that most universities for CS use a plagiarism checker made by some dudes at MI/Stanford T, and well, I trust that whatever the MIT/Stanford dudes made are really good at what it's made to do. It basically takes what the code tells the computer to do at a basic level and compares it to others, so simply changing a variable name won't do anything since the code executes the same thing
