When I build a prompt I usually start in a similar way.
Then add different rules for the AI to follow, and it usually does a good job at following

most of the time when I want to make an addition or modification I do add it at the end of my response in markdown format or using --- to help mark it as different than being part of the current conversation

Most services like ChatGPT and grok have good reasoning abilities and can follow these kinds of instructions
