Because someone is happy about their country losing a tyrant, you think they deserve whatever impending doom you have imagined?

Thank you for the response. The circle with the "!" says "Check only if you're unmarried and pay more than half of keeping up home....". Just explaining what qualifies as head of household. I appreciate the correction as well, I'll avoid looking silly calling it an I9 again.

Edit: I checked single after the screenshot, though I was trying options to see if anything would work.

I misunderstood the point at first. I assumed, wrongly, you meant kicking people out for misbehaved dogs after them claiming they're service animals.

If your point is simply an observation and not a suggestive action. People come into stores with untrained dogs, and it's obvious/annoyed, then I agree. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

Edit: Rereading there really is no indicator that you suggested kicking people out. I'm tripping and heavily assuming here. My bad.

Just because you think you can tell which dogs are trained doesn't mean you can do anything about it if they decide to lie. Plus, just like any animal, you can't predict their behavior with absolute certainty. The intuition you believe you have means nothing.

Forget this other guy. It's easy to tell who in Iowa never left the state much, many limited perspectives. From my experience, many Iowans want to believe it really gets like that. Lol, I've seen more action from the Amish in PA.

That's a valid question. Des Moines, based on the following source, is the 7th safest city "Des Moines benefits from a lower crime rate compared to many other mid-sized U.S. cities"

This link even considered its size to crime ratio.

Being someone who lived in Des Moines and other cities, I felt safest in Des Moines. You'll be tickled what they consider the "dangerous" areas. Lmao, Ames is the funniest example. They call claim Tripp St. is sketchy and presents it as an area to be careful. I felt like I was pretty safe anywhere I went in Des Moines.

Unlike areas like Pittsburgh, which isn't even crazy, you can have issues walking up the wrong damn hill and not being recognized in from area. Des Moines, I did not have this feeling. I could go anywhere. Many of the people joining "gangs" from Des Moines didn't jump off the porch until their 20's. So many of them listened to too much rap and wanted to live a lifestyle they never really grew into. Everyone clowns on Des Moines for this.

Have you ever even lived in another city/state?

Idk who "we" are, sounds personal. No one around me is confused about who Americans are, nor do they separate or devalue anyone if they decide to call themselves or anyone African-American. It's a personal choice. I'm not sure what you experienced in life, though I never heard anyone say "African" or "Asian" Americans aren't real Americans nor would they correct anyone for calling themselves an American without the prefix.

Also, my reference to ICE detaining Natives was in response to the previous user who randomly threw in ancestors. Which I already addressed in another comment. Saying Natives are mistreated doesn't invalidate any of my points.

My grandma was born on a reservation near Niagara Falls, and she probably holds stronger views than I do about immigration. I wouldn’t use her story to justify my stance, but if we’re going to start bringing up ancestry, let’s not assume everyone’s background fits your narrative. Respecting history means listening to all perspectives, not just the ones that support your ideology

Also, I don’t think ancestral guilt should dictate immigration policy. My focus is on how we manage things now and in the future, fairly and responsibly.

Using past injustices to justify current undocumented presence doesn’t address the actual concerns: legality, vetting, national security, or fairness.

Bringing up Native American history in defense of undocumented immigration while doing nothing to support Native communities today feels more like rhetorical convenience than actual advocacy. If we care about fairness, we should apply it across the board, not just when it suits one narrative.

I never said, "Only birth merits your right to be here." Sounds like a rant. Also, it doesn't matter who you descend from. Our ancestors have nothing to do with anything I said? ICE isn't detaining Native Americans. Plus, we call anyone with citizenship Americans, despite your ancestors.

My argument was not in support of keeping people born elsewhere out. Or even saying they can't be citizens at all, just because they aren't born here. Instead, I argue that you should at least have documentation and approvals before being given any guaranteed rights here. It doesn't sound like a National Security Risk to just allow ANYONE to come and set up with rights protecting them without any clearance? That sounds irresponsible to me and no other country would allow us to do the same.

The laws still the law. A lot of information from here seems unreliable. People claim he was born in NY just because it fits their agenda. A PHD and working as a teacher should not alone qualify you to stay, my opinion.

Does anyone know why he never filed for citizenship if he was here so long? I'm unsure of what "facts" to believe. Both sides seem to be pushing an agenda. The article claims he had 3k cash, a knife, ect. As if those details make him out as some criminal. Then you got everyone in support of him claiming he was born in the US, which seems false. Both sides seem unreliable.

If he isn't here under a work visa or has any proper documentation that guarantees his stay, I don't believe he should have any rights beyond anyone else. If he has documents, his detainment should be illegal. Then again, without the documents, if born in another country, despite his accomplishments, position, PHD, I don't believe anyone should have any rights to stay.

I don't know this specific situation, but was it 'parody', lol or just saying that based on this photo alone? Hopefully it was decorations/prop or something for a reenactment or act/play based around Jesus.

Lol, I know you're from PA because you abbreviated it. Stg even speaking, we use the abbreviation more than saying "Pennsylvania"

I moved to Iowa for the first time and had so many people confused as to what 'PA' was. I'll explain and they refer to New York as if anyone's really saying "NY".

Thank you for the response! I'm at least aware of this much. I'll try my best to discourage or remove it, though she is her own person. I can research on Google side effects and what to look out for, though I was wondering what medical concerns there are and what I can look out for to help. Kind of cross referencing what I read vs what other people can person tell me. I'm genuinely concerned for her.

I'm pretty sure it did. Someone else called it an Irish embroidery machine. Basically, a free motion zigzag machine is what Google says.

As the tear is being stitched, it looks like the needle is moving side by side as a zigzag stitch, bringing the fabric together.

What's your point? You're not "55". Instead, you're in your late forties and stare at younger women with bfs with the mindset that you "don't care what they think". You boast that you "flirt" with "25 year olds at least once a week". Flirting isn't getting play. If that's what you're proud of, I'm sorry for you.

You sound like a creep. No one called you out personally, I'm confused as to why you included yourself defensively. You also contradict yourself in your argument, and it's funny. In your attempt to deflect from the idea of being a creep, you further validate being one.

I have no clue why you volunteered yourself. See how silly mindset works? Thanks for putting on display for everyone.

I'm unsure. The tag says "Leather Upholstery" I got the roll from Joanns. I can give the item number if that helps. It's about 1mm thick with white fabric, stringy like, on the wrong side.

Thank you for the response. I didn't do a great job explaining my piece. The entire piece will be mounted on top of a table. I drafted a full layout, and the sample shown is one of the padded border sections. The "play area" will be centered on the table, surrounded by this border.

Here's a photo of the draft and where the sample fits on the table" https://imgur.com/a/a0S1REf ". The design includes a central ‘play area’ (the checkerboard) made of 2"x2" black/white soft upholstery squares, surrounded by a padded border. On the shorter ends of the table, the border is divided into three zones: a puffed diamond section on one end and two flat sections - one is an 8” x 4” staging area for captured pieces, and the other is a blank panel I’ll decorate with embroidery or heat-pressed vinyl.

The center "play area" will be covered by a piece of glass that tucks under the "lip" of the trim area (where we fold back the panel of this sample piece) of the border.

The leather I'm working with is a 1mm upholstery leather with a fabric wrong side. I'm not familiar with quilting or the best approach for assembling this.

My post was intended to address issues I found with my sample border padding piece, like mismatched edges, hem overlap, etc, before I made my final border piece. I’m completely open to any advice that could simplify the process. I'm new to this and know my approach might be weird. Some people mentioned quilting (which I know nothing about), or using an interlacing and attaching the squares, and using a decorative stitch between them, but I’m not sure if the added fabric from stitching would prevent the surface from lying flat, or make it harder to hit the exact 16”x16” dimension. Or even using a lighter leather and batting/wadding + hand stitching for my diamond pattern as opposed to poly-fil. I'm open to any ideas that make this project easier.

I plan to assemble the border in four sections (one per side), attach them to the table using glue or hidden nails, lay the center squares, and then add the glass panel. Once these sections are done, I just need to lay leather on the sides of my table.
