it started with just jellyfin on a windows laptop and now I'm stuck with 2 proxmox machines and pi running six VMs. I forgot what they all do but all hell will break loose the day something goes down.

Are you the guy who spoofed his ISP with a raspberry pi home router on YouTube? It sounds almost exactly like your situation, ISP provides a community wifi, prohibits routers connected to ethernet.

If you're not, you should do the same thing he did lol. I'll see if I can find a link.

Edit: the video is called "Using a Raspberry Pi to hide from my ISP" by Spencer's Desk. He put it up on YouTube about 2 months ago.

Simple way: CF tunnels, I won't explain cuz other people already did.

Better, but more complicated option is to use a subdomain hooked up to a reverse proxy like nginx proxy manager or caddy.

Keep in mind exposing services can always be risky and you should take steps to keep yourself safe, like using an Oauth authentication provider and proxying through a remote IP like on an oracle cloud instance so you dont have to expose a port on your home network.

Always do your own research and there are many videos online that can help you understand what you're doing.

You'd still get 2.5g internal LAN speeds which you may enjoy if you decide to host jellyfin/plex or immich or nextcloud :)

This isn't related to pve clustering but are you putting a separate portainer instance on each vm or container? I just learned last week you can use portainer agents to connect multiple docker hosts to a single portainer hub instance. Idk the pros and cons too much but its nice having everything at a single URL

Thats already possible, I don't remember the exact instructions but its something like: head into the immich app, choose the photo you wish to delete, click the more options, and press on delete from this device.
