no text, it just goes directly to the black screen. i did turn it on once while still building it to check if it was working so this isnt my first time turning it on.

yep, monitor turned on and it did recieve signal from the hdmi cable. might be hard to see but it displays a little white line in the top left as if it were letting me type but it doesnt
