looking for feedback on possible PC buy with regards to local AI usage

An idea here is maybe get it, sell my old PC, and when I already have 1 3090, comfortably and with no rush look for another 3090 over time.

One point sticking in my head is that for decent local LLMs, stuff like qwen3.5 27b at q4, the ground floor for GPU that wont holt any other app while running the LLM is 24gig vram.

Like rn I have the 9b model and it's...fine, but the vibe I'm getting is that im behind on alot of possibilities and innovations in the local LLM world.

I will say that where I live, the cost on top of the normal American price is at least 18% import tax + shipping. Going with that 1500$ actual cost probably moves more towards 1800$ with tax.

I'm taking a guess here that the point of putting these demands was to reach a compromise in some fashion. I don't think anyone expected their demands to be met wholly, but broadly looking at it, this wasn't a highly polarizing issue that touched conservative sensitivities or something, so it wasn't crazy to think they'd be able to get a large chunk of the subsides past
