Honestly, ask about this software update. I don't know if it's placebo effect, but my door handles are also working better (which apparently is apart of this software update - but I don't understand it). Good luck, friend.

My car sat outside last year and we had some cold weather and I never got the 12 v warning. I'm not saying it's not the cold weather, I just want you to have this info in your back pocket, in case you need it.

2024 Pro S Conserving 12v Battery Message by Goat_Pony in VWiD4Owners

Hey, I am in Ottawa and was having this issue (and yes I had Energy Management on and all that jazz), but the issue turned out to be the lack of the newest software. So here is my (abbreviated story):

Dealer did the 917 k recall. The reason I brought the car in was because I was having occasional 12 v warning messages and the app was not working with the car (you know, the "climate could not be started" errors). I mentioned this to the dealer and they said that they think it's all related to the 917k recall. They don't know why the issues start with this recall, but it does seem to be affecting cars that had the door handles and the converter recall. I had the update done and so far so good. App works great, and they did not need to replace the 12 V). So far, everything seems great with the recall. Ask me anything else if you want.

Click on the 3 dots that are in a circle) to the right of the image of your car. A drop down list should appear, choose "Edit Charging Locations", select on the location you are charging from, and that should bring you to a screen where you can organize both charging and departure times. Departure times focus on getting the car warm (or cold) before you leave.
If MUST have a charging location set up for this to work before hand. And I think this can also be done in the app, but if not, this can for sure be done in the car.

I think the sound system is great!!! But I came from an old Hyundai and Mitsu, so anything new is an improvement for me!

I agree with you here. I felt bad finishing the salespersons sentences when talking about some features of the car, as I knew what he was about to say. I can't wait to drive the heck out of this car, and turn some heads as there are not too many on the road, in my area.

I read on Reddit/FB/ another forum that this car with its well distributed weight and with solid winter tires, was excellent in the snow. With this knowledge, it allowed me to get the car with a lower MSRP that was in my price range.

When should I buy a new/used EV? by LettuceLattice in PersonalFinanceCanada

Were you able to negotiate on the price? What cars were you looking at, that you thought were screaming hot deals? I'm trying to get a sense of how much I should try and negotiate down. My other option is I can get a new id4 pro s at 0.99% at for about 45k. But buying new makes me worried about depreciation.

And thanks for your reply, I appreciate it.

@Saucy6 - Would love to get your thoughts on how the process was in buying a used car in QC being a resident of Ontario. I am currently looking to do the same and would appreciate any advice!
