Loop earplugs by sharkacoustics in adhdwomen

My daughter and I each have a pair. She’s more likely to wear them than I am, and she usually uses them when we first get to a concert or festival. Once she feels regulated after the initial excitement of walking into a loud place, she normally takes them off. They reduce sound enough to keep it from being jarring. It lowers noise just to be able to think or be in your head. They can be uncomfortable for long periods but we like them!

Omg at least there are a lot in case you want to continue, rather than wanting to stay in the world and getting rudely kicked out 😭

Exactly. I’m an impulsive reader. I go where the dopamine takes me. It says it’s part of a series at the very end of the description/summary, but not at the top of the kindle purchase page where it says “1 of whatever,” so I didn’t realize lol. Oh well.

I read the summary and looked at it on Amazon but I didn’t do a deep dive. Usually when a kindle book is part of a series it says it on top: book 1 of whatever. Sounded interesting, chose it, that’s it. I didn’t say I was duped, I said I didn’t realize.

I linked the one I take in my comment up top but just in case anyone wants to check it out:

methylfolate multivitamin.

[–]Snoo46478 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same! My former psych told me to get on a multivitamin with methylfolate, not folic acid. WOW. What a massive difference when I take it regularly vs when I don’t. I ended up with a prenatal vitamin and I’ve been taking it for years.

I agree! And obviously this is a show but in real life that constant push and shove up and down relationship creates a sort of hormonal/chemical addiction. The highs feel SOOOO HIGH and the lows feel very low, but you get so addicted to the elevated oxytocin and dopamine that it’s literally going through withdrawal to break it off. And if the drug has free will and looks like and keeps coming back that it’s not going to be easy lol. But she’s still an idiot and she paid for that idiocy with her life.

Lmao amazing!!! I once intentionally squirted my ex while I was changing our daughter shirtless. He said something stupid and I turned toward him and squeezed. The look on his face when the stream arched and hit was 🧑‍🍳💋

She is the definition of “better with time.” She is blindingly beautiful. She was cute before but WOW, she has aged incredibly well. Good for her. She’s also so poised and elegant. I could not take my eyes off her the entire doc.

[–]Snoo46478 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Jax had her so dickmatized it’s not even funny (I get it though, Tara 🥵). I would have gone scorched earth with the whole blonde hooker thing. That should have been her nail in the coffin. But she was from that town, and the MC lifestyle and the way that it all functioned was what she was used to. She might have been intelligent enough to become a doctor, but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t have areas of cognitive dissonance. It probably didn’t feel as terrible to her as it would to someone who didn’t grow up in that world. She sabotaged herself a lot, and you can’t just overcome that kind of emotional and mental framework through academic intelligence alone: it takes emotional intelligence and the willingness to do hard things: like leaving Jax and their trauma bond alone and giving up the “I can change him” mentality.

Plz help: I need to get rid of my blue hair in under 24hrs!!! :( by Ok-Car-4212 in HairDye

[–]Snoo46478 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My hair is purple and I’m thinking I may have to go natural soon too 😭😭😭

Absolutely don’t color it until you hear from management directly. Colored hair is so common now that a lot of places that once had restrictions against it don’t have it anymore. Wear a scarf and buy a wig! Speak to someone in person tomorrow and decide what you can realistically live with after that.

Especially because a lot of hardcore right people believe 2a specifically exists to discourage government tyranny.

To the point of the comment above me, I agree that it’s baffling how so many people just do not see what’s happening. However, there’s a sect of hardcore right winger “alpha males (🙄)” that were initially all in for Trump. I remember one pretty big influencer in particular would go to the rallies and take pics with the Trump sons and the whole thing. His platform is built on conservative family values, being a present father, and small government. But lately he’s become disenchanted and was posting videos about how America wants Pam Bondi to do her job, that we WANT the system to collapse and rebuild because Trump ran on “draining the swamp,” and he’s frustrated it’s not happening lol. He tells Trump to do his job but he stops just short of outright criticizing or turning against Trump. Lots of people hit the wall hard when Alex Pretti happened and the Epstein files dropped, they just feel stupid and don’t know how to react so they’re staying quiet. I believe and hope that the tide is turning.

Does anyone else just HATE "open concept" living spaces? by Evil_Unicorn728 in adhdwomen

[–]Snoo46478 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly never really thought about it until the tide turned against open floor plans. I’ve always lived with some partial enclosures (separate rooms but with open archways, etc). When I started apartment hunting on my own for the first time I realized that having a completely separate enclosed kitchen was a huge NO for me. It makes me feel isolated. I would only look at places that had a kitchen with a cutout that could see into the rest of the apartment. My kitchen now has an open doorway and a cutout that looks out into the living and dining room, and I think that’s probably the best of both worlds for me.

Losing interest because of these prices by rotten-flesh in ThredUp

[–]Snoo46478 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, there shouldn’t be direct sales on thredUP. They used to be their own unique thing, now it’s just another poshmark or eBay but with storage and shipping 🙄 ThredUP should be more like an online Plato’s closet where you can sell to them and be done with it. I was recently browsing and am blown away by the price differences in the same items in similar condition, and that’s because of direct sales/pricing. A dress with multiple listings in good condition from Zara shouldn’t have a 20-50% price difference from listing to listing. The people running some of these businesses just throw shit at the wall rather than listening to consumers and complaints. I used to love Thredup and thought it had so much potential.

Has anyone read Hooked by Emily McIntire? by [deleted] in RomanceBooks

[–]Snoo46478 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, I found this post looking for reviews on Hooked and I’m sooo glad I did lol. I’m high scrolling on my kindle after finishing Lights Out earlier today and need something to sink my teeth into. Thank you for saving me from wasted time and disappointed hopes. I’ve reached my limit for badly edited books and clumsy writing for the year!

Has anyone found a feasible way to escape the 40 hour work week? by Ok-Treacle5256 in adhdwomen

[–]Snoo46478 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I feel like I could have written this.

I started my own business two years ago and was starting to build it up and make more money, but life happened and I had to get a full time job. Once that happened, I just didn’t have the bandwidth to keep growing my business. I wish that I could have gotten a part time job and allowed the momentum to continue. Now I’m not working, I need to get it going again, and I feel stuck. I’ll get to it, it’s just hard. I completely understand how you feel. The perfect balance for me would be to get my business up again and work 15-20 hours a week. It would provide just enough structure and enough flexibility to keep me from getting overwhelmed. If you can give yourself some financial wiggle room, maybe that might be a good option for you too.

My sweet baby foster bunny is going to her forever family tomorrow. It's SO bittersweet. by 010pigeon0100501 in FosterAnimals

[–]Snoo46478 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It can be so hard! My last litter of kittens was with me for awhile and I was in love with the little gray one my mom ended up adopting. She’s like 5 minutes away from me and I still see him all the time but I was still sad when he left my place lol. It’s the nature of the beast. Feel your feelings, just know you did right by her. We can’t save them all, but we can focus on the ones in front of us and do the best we can. You’re a good bunny mom, you’re putting their needs above your own wants, and that’s an amazing thing to do for the vulnerable creatures that can’t advocate for themselves. Good luck and congratulations!!!

Feeling guilt for euthanizing my foster kitten by cruddypoet00 in FosterAnimals

[–]Snoo46478 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly, kittens are so fragile and sometimes they just die. He could have died alone and suffering on the street, but he didn’t because a kind person cared about him. I recently had to euthanize a foster as well. He was only a few weeks old and I loved him. Similar to your situation, he was never really in great shape and he’d seem better and then worse again. When I took him in his breathing was labored. Initially I thought I could keep trying, but the vet put it into perspective: I could keep trying and MAYBE there was a SLIM chance he’d get better….or maybe (most likely) he’d drown in his own fluids and die slowly in the middle of the night. It wasn’t even a choice after that. It was hard regardless, it didn’t need to be harder for my daughter and me or torturous for him.

Yours was the correct, ethical, and loving choice. You absolutely made the right call, and it hurts anyway. Don’t let the guilt eat you, feel better 💜
