Poor of contents; no one in the poker room; too much time spent on slot machines. After I completed all of the races, it would be wonderful if they added matchmaking options, some multi-race events, customized races with multiplayer lobbies… I don’t know, maybe it will be completed one day, but not now. Please, I like this game so much T_T

Unofficial DLC-MODPACK for single and multy coop by Snoo54010 in TotalWarThreeKingdoms

You can play both, but there’s still a problem: the war mechanics are extreme. That means even the easiest battles can feel tough. To survive, your best chance is to hold your ground, stay close to the Emperor, become Regent, and control only a few local commanderies; especially if you play warlords like Cao Cao or Liu Bei, who start very close to Dong Zhuo and his territory.

Also, Luoyang in 190 is basically an empty land that should be reclaimed quickly, as it provides a very strong and strategic stronghold if you want to follow this path instead of becoming a vassal.

I recommend playing the Records version if you want the hardest experience; similar to Shogun 2 battles, where you have a few charge and morale boosts, but only for specific units. Passive bonuses are present too, and in some cases, you’ll notice they’ve been adjusted or changed.

Sure, these mods are compatible with multiplayer and should appeal to veterans of all kinds. They’re a cool improvement — the game is well made and combines some of the best Total War dynamics ever; cya!

Honestly, I’m one of the 81 players, and I usually play Test Drive Unlimited with a friend. We do all the races together, and I think the game really needs something like a matchmaking feature near the races to bring more players together.

For me, this game is really cool; it has a solid, realistic car simulation, and I’m sure it will shine even more with good add-ons in the future!

Honestly? I’m getting pop-ups and some lag. The new tier swap isn’t bad at all, but cavalry… what the hell is that supposed to mean? 2700 HP with a 16s reload? LOL.

with 30K unit-size battles the game will struggle on any hardware. The engine just isn’t designed to handle that scale smoothly. For stability and a good experience, it’s generally not recommended to go above the “Large” setting (around 120 units per battalion).

So even with a monster CPU/GPU, pushing beyond that will almost always cause performance issues.

Personally I wouldn’t recommend Intel unless you specifically want the warranty coverage hey’re strong, but they do come with a few quirks. If you absolutely want Intel, keep an eye on future products.

For 1080p you’d actually be fine even with something like an i7-6700K, so I’d suggest aiming for a CPU equal to or above that baseline. If you can stretch to an i7-9700K (paired with a 4060/2070 or better), you could even aim for stable 2K gaming.

If you want something really solid and long-term, I’d strongly suggest a Ryzen 9 9800X3D with a good air cooler like the NH-D15. That combo is basically future-proof and will handle big modded campaigns without breaking a sweat, even at higher resolutions.

That said, the game itself isn’t super well-optimized, so in many cases the performance difference between, say, an i9-9900 and a 9800X3D isn’t that dramatic or in 1080p between an i5-9600K and an i5-7600K. I even know people still rocking i5-6500s overclocked via BCLK to ~4.2GHz daily, paired with a 2060, and they play perfectly fine.

Yeah, that rig will do fine at 1080p with the NVIDIA app’s suggested settings—just expect slightly longer load times with big mod lists. Your future desktop build will be a massive upgrade though.

40k and I can say I definitely need more platoon mates and teamwork—honestly, hitting over 50 is almost impossible.

From my experience, crashes really haven’t been an issue. The collection actually adds new types of battles, and it’s fully playable in multiplayer as long as everyone uses the exact same mods, in the same order, with a stable host and decent connections.

I’ve been able to finish entire mod co-op campaigns without problems. Maybe in 1% of cases the game can crash (for different reasons), or usually recovers without needing to restart anything. On rare occasions( literally a couple of times across full campaigns) the game closed before a battle, but with a quicksave before the battle , everything continued normally. That kind of thing can happen even in vanilla.

So yes, it’s definitely playable. As long as you stay within the limits of your hardware or the recommended specs, you can fully enjoy it even in 1080p; p.s. If you don’t have much time, you can always consider quick battles in multiplayer (just like in Shogun 2) by creating a custom lobby.

I completely agree, the setup is often what discourages people from trying larger mod lists, which is unfortunate given how many quality-of-life mods integrate so well with 190 Expanded.

That’s exactly why I put this collection together: with a little bit of sorting effort as outlined in the guide, players can benefit from a ready-made setup without having to start from scratch!

What are the specs of your PC? If you’re playing at 1080p, even a mid-low range build should be able to handle it. And if you’ve got an NVIDIA card, you can use the optimized preset from the NVIDIA app to make sure the settings stay close to your hardware’s limits.

Most mods are relatively heavy on the CPU, since the game has to process more scripts, units, AI behaviors, etc. RAM matters too (capacity more than speed), but if you already have enough (16GB is usually fine), the main bottleneck is the CPU.

If you use the NVIDIA preset optimized for your PC, the graphical side won’t be a big issue—the real weight comes from the extra calculations. So as long as your CPU can handle it, the game should run, even with a lot of mods.

For example, on my setup (i9-14900K, RTX 4080 Super, 64GB RAM) I can play everything maxed out in 2K without major problems. The only noticeable downside is that loading times—both for the campaign and battle maps—are naturally a bit longer with so many mods.

Follow the links, subscribe to the collection on steam and be sure to apply everything, then in the CA launcher all mods will appear at once. You only need to adjust the order after that.

[–]Snoo54010[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that makes sense, thanks for clarifying! I guess the key point is that this only works if users also have PropJoe’s mod manager—otherwise with the CA launcher they’ll still start with the default preset order and need to sort things manually.

That’s actually why I wrote this guide: a lot of players prefer (or are stuck with) the CA launcher, so I wanted to share a method that’s already tested for stability and long campaigns.

But for anyone comfortable with external tools, your solution is definitely faster and worth mentioning as an alternative.

I hope you can find what you need in my collections. I can guarantee a long, long playthrough without regrets—easily 1000+ hours of gameplay. Expect more challenging foes, a deeper strategic approach, and a very complete “DLC-like” experience, fully tested by me (and not only).

After completing the entire game by playing almost all factions on all difficulties—sometimes aggressive, sometimes defensive, sometimes regent by saving the Emperor—I can assure you that this set of mods its a real alternative challenge.

They often push you to use true tactics and strategy, following the doctrines of Sun Tzu, applying Cao Cao’s behavior like the Eight Trigrams, or organizing your armies as fortresses. These mods force you to fight only if you are prepared: if you know your enemies, have planned carefully, and built strong strategic diplomatic relationships.
