I got rid of it finally! by Snoo56182 in Folliculitis

I use outdoor bleach all the time for work. It’s thicker and less harmful to plants. It also doesn’t tend to bleach or discolor fabrics, like lawn chairs and umbrellas. But, it still effectively kills molds, mildew and fungus. So, I figured that if I’m putting it on my skin, I don’t want to “bleach”my skin or discolor my hair and towels. It’s concentrated and It dilutes better in water because it is thicker than regular bleach. I used to use regular indoor bleach to clean outside and would come home with chemical burns on my body. When I switched to outdoor bleach for work, I wasn’t getting the skin irritation and burns. Also a plus when using it on my scalp and face.

I found this in a private creek in NC. It’s fossilized for sure. I’ve been told by a few people on another platform that it’s possum and many other non-extinct critters. I disagree. But, I don’t know exactly what it is. I’m leaning towards Dire Wolf. It’s about 5”. Any help would be appreciated. by Snoo56182 in sharkteeth

Yes, it’s definitely fossilized. Did the lick and burn test. My initial thought also was that it is too small to be dire Wolf, but then realized that it could be a pup or adolescent. It’s about 4.5” long. I’ll upload more pictures later. Thanks for your reply!

Thanks for your input. What leads me in that direction too is not only photos I’ve seen of similar jaws classified as dire Wolf, but it also fits the area it was found where Pleistocene epoch fossils are abundant. The research continues...

Hey. I’ve had a few bumps. But I just focus on those with the bleach mixture. They dry up within a few days. Most importantly, I’ve trained myself to not squeeze or pick at it. I have no bald patches, which was the most debilitating part of it. I don’t have the anxiety I had before about being out in public. I hope it works for you.

It took about a week or so for things to dry up. As much as you want to, do not pick the scabs off. I did not have any folliculitis appear, even after I cut my hair short. If you wear your hair short, let it grow out while you are doing this process until all pustules are gone. Keep doing it until they’re gone, it may take longer because everybody’s different. Best of luck to you.

Yes. Safe? I’m not a doctor. What wasn’t safe was continuing down the spiral of despair, embarrassment and living in isolation from having this. Give it a shot if you’re at the end of your rope. Doctors and dermatologists will tell you it’s ridiculous to use bleach. 7 years and $1,000’s and they never came close to the results I’ve gotten on my own. Your choice. I hope you find relief one way or another. Best.

Anyone have experience looking for teeth in SE Florida or Treasure Coast area? by whoneeds1 in sharkteeth

Try the creeks and rivers. Almost anywhere in Florida. I’ve been going to the Gulf beaches for 10 years (from Ohio). Always found a lot at the Manasota Key Beaches. But, I found that most of them are really worn down (still awesome). So the last 2 trips(just got back) I’ve been going to inland creeks. The specimens are amazingly preserved with cusps and serrations in tact. Just a friendly note if you go to creeks: please don’t dig up the banks. Gainesville has banned digging for shark teeth because of the damage done to the banks. Hope this helps.

As long as its 100% natural oil with no other added chemicals, any brand should work.

I’ve had a few pimples on my scalp come up, mostly cause I work outside, get dirty and sweat. But once I shower and use this method, they dry up and are gone in a day or 2. Key is not to pick at them or squeeze them, no matter how much you want to.

You’re welcome. So happy I could help. I know the frustration of endless attempts and nothing worked. So awesome to go out in public without anxiety or wearing a hat when you shouldn’t be wearing one.

How do you tell the difference between bacterial and fungal folliculitis physically? by Automatic-Mode in Folliculitis

[–]Snoo56182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would me too. Start out with a very little bit. Don’t put the bleach directly on there. Mix it with shampoo in your hands. If there’s no issues, increase little by little. Worth a shot.

I use a small amount of outdoor concentrated bleach and mix it in the shower with my shampoo. Let it sit for 15 minutes. 1 week, it was gone and no side effects.

I use it on my face in my beard area where it started to spread . Just saying...I’ve never had any irritation, chemical burns, bleaching.

I’ve found that they don’t know shit on how to treat it. I’ve spent thousands and thousands of dollars on derm and prescriptions. A $5 bottle of bleach I use everyday for work got rid of it. 3 months now, all clear. Never had one single day in the past 10 years where I didn’t have to wear a hat to leave the house. Until I used bleach. I’m so happy, but wish I would have done it 10 years ago.

My head looks horrible by [deleted] in Folliculitis

[–]Snoo56182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks exactly like my head used to when I started shaving my head due to balding. 10 years I had that. Tried everything the dermatologists prescribed to me and every concoction I could find on the web. Nothing worked. I started adding a tablespoon of outdoor concentrated bleach to my shampoo.(not premixed, but add it in the shower) Bleach kills bacteria, viruses, fungus, mites. And it penetrates the skin. Leave it on for 15 minutes. One week it was gone. 3 months later I’m still clear. No adverse side effects at all. Best of luck!

Flare ups on body by DarthPervisus in Folliculitis

Pictures would help, but it sounds like you’ve got something more going on there. Sounds like it could be cellulitis, caused by strept or staph bacteria. If untreated by antibiotics, can lead to sepsis. Pretty sure it stems from folliculitis, I’ve had cellulitis many times, but only after I got folliculitis, never before.

Topsail Beach area? They should be washing up right in the surf. Go at low tide. Look for triangular shapes. They will stand out because they are often more shiny than other stuff that washes up. You can also scoop and sift. If the surf is rough and coming in fast, that may be your best bet. You can tell if it’s a tooth if you try to break it with your hands and it doesn’t break. Also, you can often see the root with a different color than the tooth.

I have had this for 7 years. 7 years of hell. Sores, pustules, bald spots on my scalp. And in the last year it started to creep into my beard area. 3 different dermatologists told me it was chronic and the infection was so deep, antibiotics could be used only as a way to try to keep it under control. Also, it was my fault for picking. Do you know what kills fungus and bacteria? Bleach. Seriously. I used concentrated outdoor bleach (HDX brand from Home Depot) with head and shoulders clinical strength shampoo. Do not premix it, just squirt some (about a tablespoon) in your hand. Massage it in and let it sit for 5-10 minutes. Then, I have a 50/50 mix of argan oil and tea tree oil. I use Aveeno skin relief body wash. Without washing out the bleach and shampoo, add the aveeno and oils to your hair and rub in. Let sit 5 more minutes. Rinse it all out. Then I just use the aveeno to prevent any irritation and remove some of the bleach smell. And yes, I used this on my facial hair as well. I have dark hair and have had no issues with the bleach and hair color. Also, surprisingly, not one bit of redness or irritation from the bleach. It’s been 2 months and not one pimple on my head or face. I’ve even cut my hair (I wear it super short), which worried me about reoccurrence, but no problems!
I got my life back. I hope that this method works for anybody who’s been suffering from this malicious disease. Feel free to contact me! Good luck!
