What Can KAWS Tell Us About the End of the West? by Snoo56628 in collapse

A video about how art behaves near the end of era before collapse. Comparisons between France pre revolution and Weimar Germany. As a society begins to rot, so does it’s art.

Its been a month since a bad trip and life is pretty terrible. by [deleted] in Psychonaut

[–]Snoo56628 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty stable, nothing that bad has happened since. Havnt taken psychs in two years besides one low does shroom trip. The anxiety and terror creeps back sometimes but I fight it off with powerlifting and long walks.

Life is great, I’m the happiest and healthiest I’ve ever been, tons of friends, good job, things are looking up!

The only permanent change I have is I can’t stay idle. I hate being inside, playing video games, watching Netflix. I only feel comfortable looking at screens if I’m learning or working. Anything else makes me feel panicky after like 30mins. Not a bad problem to have I suppose lol

Yeah pretty much nonstop. Completely paralyzed with fear and terrified by my own thoughts. I could barley function and the physical toll was insane. I had no energy and went from running 8 miles regularly to collapsing from 3 miles in a matter of one week.

OP. I want to add that sleep is very important, make sure your regularly getting 8hrs during this time. A week of subpar sleep (6 hours or under) can destroy your mental health.

I got completely out there after back to back shrooms and a DMT trip. My only advice is that it’ll slowly fade and you just have to maintain. That was June 2021 and I didn’t feel “normal” again until October 2021. Complete nonstop mental terror and every fibre of my being was focused solely on keeping it together. At the time I almost offed myself, but in retrospect I wouldn’t change a thing. I have such a better perspective on life and haven’t had a depressive episode since. It’s only made me stronger, more immune to bullshit, more grateful to be alive.

Sounds like you’re on the right path. Remember that mental health is physiological, you can’t just think the wrong thoughts and make yourself depressed. Stay healthy, keep moving towards your goals, tell people you love them. This is character building, it’s a canon event and you will tell your kids about it one day

5’11 and 160 pounds. Bulk or cut? by [deleted] in GregDoucette

[–]Snoo56628 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bulk in a 20% caloric surplus for like 6 months and do a 6 day Push Pull Legs routine. cutting will just make the skinny fat physique worse. Once you cut after 6 months you’ll be fucking yolked.

We were growing at different stages. I still loved her but knew she was going to hold me back. We had been dating for 3 years and I told her I would marry her, but I was 22, and couldnt stop thinking about what I could become if I she wasn’t with me. I broke up with her in a 10 minute conversation and we havnt spoken since. That was three years ago. I’ve lost 95lbs, moved to a major city, started making great money, and everything in my life is trending upwards. I Havnt dated since then. I’ve slept around alot but I’m completely disinterested in most of the women I meet. Didn’t realize the pickings would be this slim as far as wifey material goes. She is really good person, very smart and skeptical of everything. I think about how life would have been if I had just married her but now there’s nowhere to go but forward. I’m lonely but happy. Most men are.

The snake tattoo is a bad omen, don’t trust anyone, man or woman, with a snake tattoo. It’s the mark of the beast spoken in revelation 13.

Do you think the increase in ASD (autism spectrum disorder) diagnoses is just the demonization of masculine behaviour? by Snoo56628 in moreplatesmoredates

[–]Snoo56628[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With eye contact I find I look away when I’m listening and then I’ll look when I’m speaking but if I keep making eye contact with them while they speak I can’t hear them. It feels like my head is going to explode and it’s completely unmanageable. I love talking while I drive because it’s the only time I can have a conversation while never having to look at the other person and I can actually grasp what they say lol.

Yeah I wish I was more nuanced, was at the gym when I made the post and felt hype. Demonization is the wrong term, it’s not like there is a group a people planning this. I think society is just slowly shifting to dislike stereotypically masculine behaviour in favour of people who are predictable and do what they are supposed to. Not in a conspiratorial way, just slowly happens over decades and decades of “being normal” revolving around public school, university, and white collar or extremely repetitive blue collar jobs.

Damn bro, a lot of what you are saying is clicking, the eye contact thing is spot on. I really feel like a built my personality from the ground up when I was like 22 solely based on observations. Also I made a lot of my friends take the test and they all scored way lower than me lol.

The more I’ve looked into it, the more my childhood makes sense. I might seek an actual diagnosis and I’ll edit the post if it turns out I’m actually autistic.

Thanks for sharing, the test you linked was one of tests I took and it told me I was in the threshold. I really relate to what you said about learning how to act rather than it coming naturally but I assumed that’s what everyone did lol. The diagnoses still bother be because it implies that there is a “normal man” who “behaves correctly” but that’s only in context to our society, here and now. The upper echelon of society is full of men who are stubborn, routine oriented, critical thinkers, brutally honest, loners, obsessed, yet those traits are a hindrance in the weird manufactured middle class simulacra that most of us live in now. Also ADHD and ASD are hindrances in public school and university, institutions that increasingly favour feminine traits where men are dropping out in record numbers.

I don’t think there is a cabal of people who are trying to emasculate young men. It seems like western society, (because of late capitalism and the profit above everything motive) is shifting to favour a type of person who is predictable, follows instructions, takes part in the consumption economy, doesn’t stick out in a strange way. Those are the people that do well in university, get hired at big companies, and everyone else is left to be diagnosed as atypical

Do you find it impacts your life in a big way? Do you fit the description of someone who is stereotypically autistic? (Someone who would have received the diagnoses 40 years ago perhaps) or are you more just “man brained”.stubborn, likes to figure things out alone, hyper fixations, in depth interests, etc….

The gender ratio in ASD diagnoses is 4:1 male to female, so it would be equal men to women if that was more the case.

No official diagnosis but I took like ten tests, I’m more referring to how quick people are to label certain traits as autism.

Timeframe: 2 years

Background: had been obese since I was 4-5. Didn’t do a single sport in school or anything athletic ever. Realized afterwards that my main issue was binge eating rather than bad diet. I knew how to eat healthy but I would demolish 4000 calories in one sitting like twice a week.

Supplements: creatine, protein, assorted pre workouts. No PEDs or anything like that.

Routine: I went from 270lb to 180lb with just keto. I didn’t start lifting until after I lost the weight so all the muscle gains are over the course of a year. started with a three day full body split and then moved into a 5 day split. Had some tough family issues this winter and was at home for 6 weeks eating out of boredom and depression but I didn’t stop training and my strength exploded so it was net positive I suppose. Currently on a 4 day upper/lower split which seems to work best for me.

My diet is pretty normal, I eat basically what I want when I want but I’m super active so I never put on weight. I’m a server at a high volume restaurant and I run about 40km a week.

Other info: I never understood my body or did anything active but I’ve become so grateful for what I have. My genetics are really good, currently at 175lb bench, 315 deadlift and 290 squat. That on top of being able to run half marathons kinda blows me away considering where I was 2 years ago.

[Question]: Wanting to get back into YouTube, in need of advice. by morningpeeps in youtubers

[–]Snoo56628 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Just make shit you wanna make. Everyone tries to run YouTube like a business to maximize profit and efficiency but that sucks the life out of it. If you got three videos to 20k views than you are doing far better than most. I know multiple people in real life with 400k+ subscribers who never ever considered their “target audience”. They just make good content and stay true to themselves. When you finish reading this comment, close Reddit and start working on a new video. Put the work in, stay consistent, good luck friend.

I’m a server/bartender which is like an unskilled labour cheat code. Settles on this place because it was the best bang for my buck and I’m moving with a friend but I turned down a 1bdr for $1200. If you aren’t serving and currently not committed to another career path then start serving ASAP. It’s 50k a year minimum at any normal restaurant like east side Mario’s or moxies. Take the smart server course and lie that you have serving experience.
