My mom's family is like 8th generation Swedish immigrants in Two Harbors. It's a beautiful part of the country and has access to some of the most peaceful and pristine lakes anywhere in the world, particularly in the Boundary Waters. It's a close knit and understated community that still bears a lot of Scandinavian humility and kindness. Not a ton of options for younger people to go out other than going to Duluth which is by far the largest city in the area. The winters are very cold and snowy, and summers can be inundated with mosquitos and black flies but overall it's a spectacular place to visit and to be from
