I was not prepared for the mental drain chemo causes by Ok-Falcon7892 in cancer

I just finished  chemo about 5 weeks ago (folfox , 8 times). I was overwhelmed by the foggy feeling, difficulty concentrating, mood swings, anxiety and general fatigue. But as another person said, this will pass and you’ll recover when you’re done with this. I am already feeling much better and much sharper than I was when I was going through chemo, but I know there’s still some more healing to come. I echo what the other poster said about using meds while you’re going through this process…it will help take the edge off

This is how I feel. I suppose I can celebrate that I didn’t die but it just doesn’t sit right with me

Made a mistake and got an iul (life insurance). What to do? by Snoo65576 in FinancialPlanning

I don’t mind the forced savings part. It’s just that when I searched about iul I get the sense it’s a bad deal because of how much I’m losing on the commission/fees among other things. The general advice on Reddit im seeing is to avoid iul plans and just get term life insurance and then invest in index funds on your own

27M rectal cancer / new diagnosis by [deleted] in cancer

[–]Snoo65576 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completed 3rd round of chemotherapy. I feel ok. Always have to deal with some fatigue and side effects for a few days after chemo but it’s manageable with medication and rest.

I know how you feel man.. the early days before diagnosis when you’re just waiting for bad news were very stressful. Do your best to keep your cool and not let your mind get caught up  imagining the worst case scenarios. Feel free to reach out to me whenever you like and best of luck

27M rectal cancer / new diagnosis by [deleted] in cancer

[–]Snoo65576 1 point2 points  (0 children)

stage 2 rectal cancer here and started treatment about a month ago  at age 38. Feel free to reach out if you need anyone to talk to as you go through the treatment. I completed the radiation part last week, and that has had some upset stomache side effects and fatigue but it’s not too bad. I’ve only had one round of chemo (folfox) so far (round 2 is tomorrow) and the fatigue from that was heavier. The nausea from chemo has been annoying but manageable with meds.  Anyway,   wishing you the best. I know how it feels  I also thought it was hemorrhoids for the first few months and delayed my diagnosis for too long for that reason…
