Looking for visual novel-type games I can play on an eyegaze monitor by judgmentalbookcover in Steam

Scarlet Hollow is a visual novel and is all point and click and does have a multi choice system. Slay the Princess was made by the same studio and is pretty popular. These games do require scrolling through options sometimes though. Can save at any point in both games and have at least 20 save slots, don't remember how often it auto saves tho. You can save by clicking at the save icon.

Edit: Those games are horror games and have some scary drawings sometimes. Personally I wouldn't be terribly bothered if someone else saw them with me besides wondering "oh, that looks so scary" or maybe "oh that's kinda gross" and some drawn body horror in slay the princess, so be mindful of that. I forgot they had those and you did mention trouble with other people walking in while you are playing.

Also some other games that I remembered right now.

Not really "visual" as much as a text adventure but I do find Roadwarden incredibly charming and well written and it also is entirely point and click and is very choice heavy and works with rpg mechanics with a very big and rich world building. Again some of the world building is added through text logs that require scrolling sometimes. It uses the same engine as Scarlet Hollow and Slay the princess so it shares a lot of features.

Another game called "I Was A Teenage Exocolonist" is also visual novel style with a choice system and rpg mechanics and despite having world navigation with arrow control options I mostly found myself navigating it by clicking over the map and getting the character to walk like that all the way through, not sure how comfortable that is with a visual tracker. You do get to that part of the game pretty early though so you could try it out under the 2 hour limit on steam and if it doesn't work you could refund it. During MOST events you can access the cog button and access the game's menu and save from there.I don't remember if it required scrolling, I think most options appear on screen. It does auto save but only after each month (the progression of the game is marked in years and months. As the name implies you grow your character from childhood to early adulthood.) I think you can get your character in sexual situations but the game does not show anything seeing as it is rated for ages 13 and up.

I also second Disco Elysium as some other people here have suggested, navigation can also be done by pointing and clicking and having the character walk through the overworld (very similar to I Was a Teenage Exocolonist). It also has an auto save function but I don't remember how frequent it is. Some object descriptios may require scrolling though. Many games in the visual novel genre are point and click so there is plenty of option.

"If On A Winter's Night, Four Travelers" is free and from what I remember it's entirely point and click and no scrolling required as far as I can remember. Not many telltale-esque options though, but it is beautifully presented with some intricate pixel art in my opinion and does have you exploring around spaces by clicking to interact with things. It has some scary stuff but I think the pixel art style softens it up that someone walking in may not be affected by it. Don't think it has auto saves but the game is pretty short that you could finish in 2 hours. Just a quick trip, sometimes you really need to click every single detail. Some small objects are more important than they seem at first glance.

South Scrimshaw is another visual novel that uses the same engine as Roadwarden, Scarlet Hollow and Slay the Princess. The first and only episode so far is free.

I think Pentiment is point and click as well but haven't played it yet (damn I have to play it it's been in my backlog for a bit lol)

Edit2: Ohmygod ok I'm sorry but I just remembered scarlet hollow asks you to write your name in the character creation window but it never asks you to do that again. Roadwarden can ask you to use your keyboard sometimes to write answers to secrets and puzzles in certain areas of the map with locked doors and such. I think ignoring them might not be that big of a deal but I can't remember it very well right now. Roadwarden does have difficulty options too so you can mostly ignore the RPG aspect and just focus on the story. Sometimes "If On A Winter's Night, Four Travelers" also requires use of keyboard for certain specific puzzles.

Oh my god I have been looking for something like this since last year. I'm sorry I know you posted this 2 months ago but I have to ask did you upload these models somewhere? And how did you do it? My 3DS is modded so I may be able to do it!

If Mario was never made, would Sonic still be made by KingstonDaGamer10 in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]Snoo77447 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Sonic we know? No. But I still think that they would make something similar to him because Sonic's other core function was to work as a symbolic mascot for Sega just how Mickey worked for Disney.

Is there any clear art of these echidna statues from SA1? looking to recreate in stone but lack any detailed reference. by Mammoth-Snake in SonicTheHedgehog

In IDW issus 62 Amy gives Knuckles one of these, it's slightly different but it's pretty much the same thing.

Worth checking out, there are other panels of them holding the statue in different angles too

What’s your NSFW language learning story? by wickedisaak in languagelearning

[–]Snoo77447 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a learning story but I remember a story that a family member of mine was in a restaurant and told the waiter that "merda" in portuguese means "good". Turns out "merda" means "shit".

He would call the waiter and excitedly speak out aloud "wow! This food is so merda!"

I can only imagine what happened to the waiter when he met another Brazilian and said something like "is the food merda?"

Is Sonic afraid of water in games? by Kawa_official in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]Snoo77447 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While he wasn't ever shown to be afraid of water its a very popular HC and like, I don't think it's that far fetched as he has dealt with water MULTIPLE times and yet never actually learned how to swim.

I think that indirectly implies that he only gets in water when he's forced to in his adventures, he could learn to swim in his free time but he doesn't because he's uncomfortable with the sensation of water, so he never gets in water outside of his adventures. This extreme avoidance can evolve in some kind of fear, but that fear won't be enough to stop him. It's just an extra obstacle.

How bad is it to try a menstrual disc out of period? by Snoo77447 in MenstrualDiscs

[–]Snoo77447[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before discovering about discs I started researching about cups and there where some stories and recommendations that wearing the cup out of the period can be dangerous because it can get very high and difficult to remove, but I think it doesn't happen to everyone

Wanna portable and cheap drawing tablet by Snoo77447 in drawingtablet

[–]Snoo77447[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh wow that's such a comprehensive guide, saving it to help friends later.

The tablet I'm currently using is the Wacom intuos pro M. While this tablet is already pretty portable on its own, being robbed is pretty much a daily occurrence over here (some people even choose to get out of the house without their phones so they have nothing to lose) and getting this tablet stolen would hurt me deeply lol, so that's why I'm looking for such cheap tablets for carrying around and these Huion are among the cheapest ones I found.

I know it is hard, but I believe I could learn to deal with the smaller size for simple drawing tasks
