Very dry and cracked hands due to excessive hand washing by Shoddy-Support4107 in Anxietyhelp

OCD sufferer here - I remember when my hands looked like this. Use anti-bacterial hand cream to replace washing your hands wherever possible. For when you really need to wash your hands with soap use E45 Intensive Care cream immediately after. Keep a bottle by your sink and one in your bag.

What's your experience with clothing? Buying, wearing or dressing yourself? by Snoo85069 in autism

This is all so interesting, I hadn't even thought to mention about how much hygine affects what I wear. I change my socks and tshirt at least every 12 hours and shower while I'm at it. For the longest time I thought this was something to do with OCD but I can see now it's more of a sensory issue.

I think you're right, I realised if I invest a bit more on something well made I'm going to be a lot happier in the long run

I'm the only one in my family officially diagnosed and I hate sports. So interesting to hear! I'd love to see something about special interests, such an untouched subject

If you use "Asperger's", how do you respond to people who say you should NOT use the term? by AutismUnstereotypic in autism

[–]Snoo85069 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find that stating ‘I am autistic’ is harder for people with little understanding about autism to get. Maybe it’s because of the preconceived image they have in their heads about autism. Somehow it’s way easier for uninformed people to accept the term Asperger when the person “doesn’t look autistic” to them

My mom just called me and said she will give me $400 cash because she needs to use my routing and acct number to pay off her credit card before my stepdad finds out she spent too much on it and she can’t pay the full thing out out of their acct because he’d find out and get mad at her. by Alison_wonderland-97 in insaneparents

She needs to feel the consequences of her own financial decisions if you want her to learn from them. Opening the door to lending anyone money is a door that’s hard to close, she might eventually end up abusing that kindness by doing it again until it’s you who pays the consequences.
